US-based Nutech Ltd ("Nutech"), one of the world's leading companies in petrophysical analysis and reservoir intelligence, has independently assessed the Brockham-1 well. Drilled by BP in 1987 under UK Production License PL 235, this Weald Basin well sits approximately 6 miles north west of Gatwick Airport, with an estimated total oil in place (“OIP”) of 281.7 million barrels of oil (“MMBO”) per sector or per square mile inclusive of all reservoirs within the well.

The Executive Summary of the Nutech Report (“Nutech Report”) on the Brockham-1 well is appended to this news release, and the complete Nutech Report can be seen on the Company’s website.

In comparison, Nutech’s previous reported OIP assessment of the the nearby Horse Hill-1 well (“HH-1”), located approximately 4.5 miles from the Brockham play, reported a total of 158 MMBO OIP per square mile last year. This excluded the previously reported Upper Portland Sandstone oil discovery previously announced on 9 April 2015. The flow testing of the HH-1 well, as announce on 21 March 2016, reported a total aggregate stable dry oil flow rate of 1,688 barrels of oil per day from two of the three Kimmeridge Limestones and the Portland Sandstone. The pay zones successfully flow tested at HH-1 in February and March this year are similar to those seen in the Brockham-1 well.

Placing at 0.2p in September. Now on no new material news the shares are over 0.4p. Crazy. If these assets that ALBA have acquired are so valuable why did they manage to buy them so cheaply? The HH assets were acquired for a fraction of what they are currently being valued at.

Lol, lots of profit takers, traders and punters locked out on Friday's rise, and i have got a feeling they will have to pay a substantial premium this week if they want back in on the near term transformational potential upside, on all fronts. Gla holders. Onwards and Up!!! 0.5p plus in a blink. ;-)))

Lol Uxbridgearms, back under his stone for the time being......less said the better. Gl ;-)

News imminent. ;-)

Angus Energy the operator could be looking at a time frame of only around 3-5 day drill with the well already cased, the first target zone being so shallow.

We are hearing new concrete foundations have been poured so it is looking more likely a new foundation/pad is being used for the drill rig on site.

nteresting comment but this well can't be classified as a HH sidetrack can it?It's a sidetrack on the existing well that has produced for years so yes the chance of success is as high as possible really. If each zone can be drilled in 7-10 days imagine what the flow could be like if say 2/3 are drilled over a 30 day period and flowed together?2000/3000 BOPD IS possible going of HH that flowed from the same layer

How high will the share price of the little gem of a share Alba go in the next few weeks or so.......Brockham sidetrack results, Greenland grahite gold update and permit approval for HH's EWT....a complete game-changer on free flowing Brockham limestones which will significantly increase market focus and investor interest at HH where Alba hold 9.75%......truly transformational upside potential.....a multi-bag in the making, without any doubt!!! Gla holders ;-)

Sooner rather than later, January more than likely, although dependent on whether or not an EIA is required, which i reckon will not be requested judging by the original drilling application and approval in 2011 and the subsequent drilling history at HH, as HH does not lie in a designated conservation area. gl ;-)

Looking very good Gismo, and we could be in for a great Christmas and prosperous New Year with an update on Brockham's sidetrack this coming week and a stellar Greenland Rns at anytime would be the icing on the cake, and then HH's EWT's permit approvals to look forward to in the New Year. Plenty more upside momentum in anticipation, higher highs and higher lows as Alba's share price continues its re-rate. Ho Ho Ho Gl ;-)))

Mike Nott, Alba's CEO, commented:

"We are extremely pleased with the success of the gravity study and the preliminary soil geochemistry on PL3824. The gravity study is interpreted to have identified possible brecciation, a feature that is associated with Irish-Type mineralization, whereas the portable XRF data suggests we are in an area of base metal anomalism."

"We eagerly look forward to the soil geochemistry assays, and hope to tie the results in with previous studies conducted on the licence to further our exploration efforts."

Encouraging Gravity and Soil Geochemistry Results,

Limerick Base Metal Project, Ireland

Further to the announcement on 25 October 2016, Alba Mineral Resources plc (AIM:ALBA) is pleased to report the results of microgravity study and portable XRF shallow soil sampling programme from the Limerick base metal project ("Limerick" or the "Project") in Co. Limerick, Republic of Ireland. Interpretation of the gravity data suggests the presence of gravity anomalies consistent with brecciation of the host limestone, with zinc and lead anomalism in shallow soil samples collected above or adjacent to gravity anomalies.

Angus Energy - Investors pile in as work begins on Horse Hill look-alike

Is Angus Energy Investors pile in as work begins on Horse Hill look-alike
Brockham's latest well will go straight into production

Shares in Angus Energy Plc (LON:ANGS) were up as much as 7% in morning trade as investors bought into the stock ahead of results from a company-defining drill programme.

On Thursday Angus confirmed it had begun work on a well at Brockham, in Surrey.

It is a re-entry and sidetrack to a hole drilled by BP (LON:BP.) in 1987 that will first go into the Portland sandstone, host to a known oil play that is already generating 35 barrels a day.

It will then push on into the Kimmeridge, before perforating a horizon called the Coralian.
Kimmeridge has potential

The Kimmeridge has the potential to really move the needle, for this was the source for all the excitement at nearby Horse Hill, which flowed at a better than expected 1,688 barrels a day.

Horse Hill and Brockham are thought to share many geological similarities.

Eagerly anticipated will be the results from three discrete layers within the Kimmeridge.

What the experts suspect is the Kimmeridge at Horse Hill is naturally fractured, allowing oil to accumulate, so that when accessed, it flows easily to surface under its own steam.

If this model holds up then there would be no need for fracking to release this hydrocarbon bounty.

“All the original BP wells at Brockham that passed through the Kimmeridge and Corallian formations were drilled without properly assessing their hydrocarbon potential,” said Angus chairman Jonathan Tidswell-Pretorius.

“[We] look forward to update the market with the results of the assessment in due course."
The same geology as Horse Hill?

There is no guarantee that Brockham will enjoy identical geology to Horse Hill – but there is a suspicion it does; well more than that.

It is a hunch based on drilling carried out by BP, which used to own the Brockham licence.

One of Angus’ field partners, a firm called Doriemus, commissioned the consultant Nutech to make a comparative analysis of the Horse Hill-1 well and Brockham-1, sunk by BP in the 1980s.

Angus believes the maturity and fracture analysis of the two have striking similarities.

The drilling should take roughly 10 days.

Re-entering the Portland should increase output by 150 barrels a day.

If the Kimmeridge plays out in the same way it did at Horse Hill then you might add a further 1,4000 barrels to production. That’s a big deal.
Brockham permitted for production

The neat trick is that Brockham is permitted for production. So, unlike Horse Hill, it could be put on tap immediately.

Horse Hill was drilled as an exploration well and the testing was carried out over hours rather than weeks or days.

So it will require extensive further testing and the compilation of a field development plan before commercial production can take place.

That will take some considerable time to achieve. So in effect Brockham could leap-frog Horse Hill in the race to get oil to market.

If it finds oil, Angus wants to learn a great deal more out about potential of the Kimmeridge.

However it won’t be rushing through the gears. Slow and steady wins the day.

The evaluation of the zones of interest is likely to take a number of weeks as the Angus team assesses each discrete horizon.

Angus Energy plc

("Angus Energy")

Increases interest in Brockham oil field to 65% and acquires Lidsey Option

Angus Energy plc. (the "Group") is pleased to announce that it has today signed a sale agreement with Terrain Energy Ltd. ("Terrain") to acquire a 10% interest in the Brockham oil field (PL 235, "the License") increasing the Group's interest in the License from 55% to 65% in exchange for a cash payment of GBP100,000, relinquishment of Terrain's existing debt to Angus Energy's wholly owned subsidiary Angus Energy Weald Basin No.3 Limited ("AWB3" or the "Operator), at completion and the carry of Terrain's remaining 10% interest share of the upcoming well costs at Brockham. In addition, for the 12 months following this agreement, Terrain has agreed to vote in-line with the Group on matters which under the JOA are to be submitted to a vote, or require approval of all Participants in the Licence. The transfer of this interest in the Licence is subject to approval by the licence parties and the OGA, such approval being expected early 2017.

The Group has simultaneously entered into an option with Terrain for GBP1 to acquire a 10% interest in the Lidsey oil field (PL 241) which, following the exercise of the option and subsequent completion of the acquisition of the 10% interest, would increase the Group's interest in the Lidsey production license to 60% in exchange for the carry of Terrain's remaining 10% interest share of the upcoming Lidsey-2 horizontal well and a cash payment of GBP20,000 on exercise of the option.

Jonathan Tidswell-Pretorius, Angus Energy's Chairman, commented: "We are delighted that through this transaction we have been able to materially increase our position in the Brockham and potentially the Lidsey production licenses. As stated at Admission to AIM, we believe these two assets provide a strong core for the Group with low-risk development opportunities from their existing production reservoirs and with the Weald basin providing further exciting upside potential."
