great spot robinnicolson, but just the fact that some may still want to use AIR for private use, after all this, and its other services, should see IMO a bumper year, topped off with better expectations for the "new normal" next year and beyond, let's see...DYOR

"Delivering Covid-19 vaccines safely will be the 'mission of the century' for air cargo industry". Apparently transporting Covid vaccines for the global population would fill 8,000 jumbo jets...and that's just for a single dose.

V quiet on here given the news on the vaccine, means flights likely to be more "Normalised" but AIR hopefully will benefit from all the work it has done this year....DYOR....

Hopefully this contract at Guernsey Airport runs into 5 figures.

I think the reaction to the extraordinary 1H performance has been muted by their need to raise cash from a placing and use available "government grants and benefits" to manage costs which generates a certain cognitive dissonance.

Video:

Podcast:

Mark discusses AIR’s outstanding H1 with underlying PTP +250% and underlying EPS +198% mainly driven by Group Charter and Freight divisions. He goes on to discuss the performance of each of the divisions, the initiatives taken and then moves on to the opportunities including in the US, South Africa & with acquisitions. Finally, we cover the outlook where there are many opportunities, albeit limited visibility.

For me the top heavy pax focus and strategy is the issue. Even more so now in a Covid-19 crisis..freight is higher value and higher margin activity..but a small % of AP portfolio..

I continue to hold waiting for one day the magical £1 level..

Dont own any AIR and probably never will do. Just taking a passing interest in the sector in general. There is no doubt the sector is in a great deal of trouble.

Had a look at these results today. I did point out a few months ago that this would likely be a one-off which it seems to be.

H2 results are due to post a small profit - maybe an eps of 2p? That would make the full year earnings of 12p. Per of six then seems rather good value on the face of it. There is certainly value in the business at todays prices.
My problem is the future and the question of where the company goes from here. How do they better H1's figures? Last financial year they only managed earnings of 6p, is something similar in stall again for next year?

Maybe if the business continues to stagnate a predator will come along. You could argue a potential takeout price would have to be north of 100p-120p perhaps.

A poster above suggests the CEO should be booted out. He's had ten years and achieved little. Maybe that is what is needed here.

I would say results are underwhelming...

As I have said all along, AP will have made a fraction of the profits competitors made during the first half of the year due to a much smaller freight market share and weak strategy..

I don't see my £1 target coming here for a long while, and certainly we are years away from the £2.50 share price target a poster recently predicted...

Current trading and outlook

Our first half performance leaves the business well positioned to navigate the continued uncertainty expected in the second half of the year, although the continual, and often sudden, changes in the COVID-19 operating environment make it very difficult to predict the remainder of the financial year with any degree of certainty. As a result, we will not be reinstating market guidance beyond the end of this financial year, although we do expect to report a modest profit for the second half of the year.

I think it's possible or even likely they will be slightly loss making in H2 and that's why the dividend has been cut, I'd like to see revised forecasts though

Market cap £49m, net cash £18m after fund raise so EV £31m, H1 PBT of £10.5m in exceptional circumstances. Mixed outlook but presume still profitable. THe lack of guidance is frustrating but effectively on EV/EBITDA multiple of about 2 probably....! BUT what will normalised multiple work out to....half that so multiple of 4 say? Still pretty cheap?....DYOR

Looking at previoua RNS's I see that the half year results to 31 July 2019 were released on 9 October 2019 so I assume timing will be similar this year.
