TRN does well when there are interest rate changes so the 0.25% rise which will most probably happen next month in the UK and the probable interest rate rise that will happen in the US should serve it well.

It has ticked up nicely over the last week. Nothing dramatic, but good none the less.

I thought TRN was buttering itself up for being taken over, but there has been nothing on that front. Pleased that the directors and ex directors hold such a large percentage of the company. Gives me some faith.

Lets hope the interims are positive.

Cheers,
Niels

First Half period closed at end of March, creeping up, some nice buys including one at 28 - speculative punting or informed leaking? Rollovers still ongoing.

Anyway after a month and a half of going nowhere, it's about time. Results out soon.

Been very quiet here. Last year the interims were on the 1st May so on the same time scale we should get an update very soon. Lets hope it is good.

Today it appears we have 2 X 500,000 buys late afternoon. Could have a tick up tomorrow on a few small buys. WE will see.

Interesting that Nick Levene has bought another 800+k - no disclosure of exactly when. Been a lot of selling over last few days, not least after the director flogged his 50k, but price only really came off quite late - presumably the selling was being absorbed with this buy in the wings. Small tick up when a couple of people bought at 27 after the RNS.

Still, it lets a big long-term holder mop up some of the shorter term holders' shares and reduces the free float that is around. As a long term holder (today, anyway...) I'm all for that.

Speaking of long term:

It was a very different business back in the mid 1990's, with offices all over the World and made some large losses, with subsequest capital restructuring, so I don't see it going back to 80p-odd, but it's interesting to see where it has been. Also interesting to note bounces upwards off 200 day moving average and in the volumes the recent 'Mr Rollover' activity over the past year or so.

Big Cat, he only has a smallish holding. It is the time of year that many have to find cash to pay tax bills etc so could be one of many normal demands to find get funds.

ccullinane. I reckon they have around 13p a share. Maybe looking for a buy or getting ready for a great divi. Really have no real idea though.

ccullinane, thanks for your post.
It is looking very good for the future with this share. The big increase in business in October was of course after the results up to 30th Sept.

03/11/03 Record Month - A record number of deals were processed on UK-Locals in October 2003. A big Thank You to all those who use the site!

I guess the potential of this company is why many of us have held our shares although not a lot has happened in past few weeks. The next set of interims may be when a good jump in price will happen. Still as others have said, someone may be looking at this little gem with thoughts of making a bid. Good luck to all holders.

My dividend was paid last week.

Strange note in the IC today reporting on H1 figures which we all know about anyway. I can hardly comprehend what they are trying to say.

One of the things they do say is that there was a big fall in profit from last time.

This is not really true as the last set of full year results has a big one off gain included.

If you look back trough the RNS's you will notice that Trio did not issue an AGM statement last year. There must have been an AGM to approve the dividend payment which was paid on the 20th.

Monty, you may be right, I had a note that the AGM was for 17th Feb when I was out of Country. May had written it down on wrong company notes, sorry.

I'm not sure there was an AGM - wouldn't there have been a statement on current trading (even if short) which would be published as an official announcement?

It appears that no posters were at the AGM. Having just read thro the report it all looks pretty good to me. With the cash in hand and 83million shares in issue that seems to be around 13p a share and a div for the year of .75p is a good basis for holding on to this good investment. As Big Cat say's, whoever is carrying the big roll overs they must be happy to keep paying the trading fees. The poss of a take over must be in most posters minds and with the excellant trading standards and specialist position in their business field cannot be ruled out. I have no idea what a bidder might pay for Trio but expect we would get a good increase on todays share price. Good luck to all.

Two big rollovers in two days - these guys must be expecting a takeover or something to be keeping rolling their T+ positions for so long!!!
