I think the Man group stake is very significant and to me signals an overt interest in bid potential for Trio. I shall be looking to Man and/or Levene increase their stakes.

loafofbread, only look at end of each week normally at this share, very little to see generally. It is interesting that Man have come in a with 3% holding. Obviously they can see something positive in the near future for Trio, either a share price move up or even an offer. Whatever, the share does have a good cash backing as posted earlier.

Hercules, it might also be that with £10.3 million in cash and 83.43 million shares issued the shares look to be cheap. The cash in hand I calculate is about 12.3p per share.

Hercules, It must be the fact there is still a good cash balance, the new offices opening overseas and even more new technowlogy that seems to be selling to banks. The slower trading in the last year has started to improve so maybe the overall picture is better than the first quick glance at results. I have held for three years and will continue to hold in the expectation that the reason I bought in are still to come.

Honestly, this was a great share once. It was available at 11p, barely above the cash, and the company performance was far better than today. I notice in todays results that the taxation is still high which suggests plenty of entertainment still going on.

Why doesn't mgmt pay a large spec div if they can't find a use for their cash hoard?They have had ample time to spend it.

very quiet thread. I expect the interest will pick up as we approach the end of Novemebr for the final results. For the last year I half expected a bid for Trio but we still own it. Lets hope all the Trio investments/ reorganisation in the last two years produce good results.
