01/2/2017 13:00 | Does anyone know if the IT back office upgrade was implemented? My worry is that there is a distinct chance of further IT issues and massive costs etc. The way Charles D has decided to take more of an active role and the typical window dressing of Dido's exit all looks too familiar to me. Having worked with some of the executives before (not at Talk Talk, however)I just wonder if all the dirty washing is out there yet. | kangaroo joe
01/2/2017 11:14 | Hello all Not invested here yet, today's change is very good news indeed. dyor | srpactive
01/2/2017 09:06 | Extremely positive news that Sir Charles is taking back control of the reins. The position of Executive Chairman is perhaps little understood in the market place but it is the ultimate role in any company as befits an industry veteran and by far the company's largest shareholder. He has a lot of skin in the game, a lot to play for and as such is exceptionally motivated to make up lost ground and further move TalkTalk forward. Shareholders can be heartened by this very favourable news. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
01/2/2017 08:51 | Charles Dunstone back in an executive role is quite a significant change I think. I wonder if there's a bit of short-covering exaggerating the move up as well. | 1gw
01/2/2017 08:22 | Reading that change of directors statement she may be leaving but everyone else gets shuffled around so I dont see much real change there. | fenners66
01/2/2017 08:17 | Love to know the split of the reaction - Harding leaving v results! | trader2
01/2/2017 08:15 | Not sure if the positive reaction is due to Dido leaving or relief that trading had not deteriorated. Clearly they have confidence that they can continue paying the divi which is something. | salpara111
01/2/2017 07:36 | New additions Fibre +74K Mobile +75K should help too | sza2002
01/2/2017 07:36 | Group revenue down 5% though. Market might focus on this? | trader2
01/2/2017 07:22 | Must be a positive for TALK,with Dido Harding stepping down.An expected maintained dividend, will also support the share price | garycook
01/2/2017 07:14 | Change of CEO and maintained final dividend has got to be positive for the SP, however, I'm always cautious as to the market reaction :) wllm | wllmherk
31/1/2017 16:18 | As someone who has been burned here before I am very interested to see what tomorrow brings. Unless there is a dramatic improvement in free cash flow the divi will have to be cut. If they do deliver the required cash flow and the divi stays then I will most likely look at taking a stake again. | salpara111
31/1/2017 11:53 | All seems relatively quiet over here ahead of tomorrow's Q3 results. UK telecom not looking quite so hot as a sector these days. Will talktalk be able to reiterate "Expect strong cashflow generation through H2 to drive deleveraging towards medium term target of 2.0x" or will they have to qualify this statement (made at the interims) due to new aggressive pricing "TalkTalk slashes prices and guarantees no broadband price hikes until 2019" (headline from talktalk site, dated 30th January). I would have thought the latest price campaign will have limited impact on FY17 financials and I really don't think Dido can want to stand up and try to defend more slippage in a key target, so I guess I'm cautiously slightly optimistic. | 1gw
26/1/2017 10:06 | Looks like Sky are dropping (in part) the dish approach. | shroder
25/1/2017 11:29 | No, but they are paying their dividend out of cash flow, rather than reducing debt and investing in the business, the dividend is completely out of kilter with earnings which are going nowhere, it is barely covered! | bookbroker
25/1/2017 11:15 | BT bad news should not have affected TalkTalk Italy has no connection and TalkTalk do not as far as I am aware target corporate and local gov customers | pbartell
24/1/2017 13:58 | Is the North West of England still down ? | garycook
24/1/2017 13:37 | slopsjon2: I think you hit the nail on the head there. Whilst the majority of today's loss with BT is due to the mess with BT Europe (read Italy), this has been exacerbated by their report that their biggest customers, public sector and corporate, are reducing spending. The latter has definitely had a pull down effect here today. | furtive_flatulator
24/1/2017 12:52 | In the meantime, the executives continue to rake in their vast salaries. Not just Talk, the whole corporate governance system stinks. I'd have the executives paid a small stipend with the rest in shares. That way, we can all suffer together. | septimus quaid
24/1/2017 09:20 | No its Jefferies international they have put a broker note out 125p ouch WJ. | w1ndjammer
24/1/2017 09:06 | might be talktalk broadband out across North West already hit the news i have bought more on the drop 152p | w1ndjammer
24/1/2017 08:57 | Maybe a cross to BT.A down 19% | slopsjon2
24/1/2017 08:27 | Why the drop this morning on no news? | touche
18/1/2017 14:29 | Down, Neily? Down over what period? Viddy this chart: hxxps://uk.tradingvi It's basically had a 100% retracement from its gains between May 2012 and May 2015. It's also bounced off the gradually rising support a couple of months ago. I reckon wait out and see if it breaks through 150.440 in a month or two, if it does it will likely be going towards all-time lows. But in the grand scheme of things, it's a very small movement. It's also well below the moving averages. Also bear in mind that the market is massively volatile in both the UK and US at the moment, and Talk Talk aren't exactly the strongest company in the world... | maffoo |
