As far as I'm aware, only a global (fine) figure has been disclosed.

Maybe trying to work out Talk's slice of the action.

Meanwhile the shareprice is up and my losses are now sub £4k

BT slapped with record £42m fine over delays in installing lines

27 March 2017 | By LLB Reporter

Ofcom hands down its largest ever fine

Telecoms operator Ofcom has slapped BT with a record £42m fine, the largest it has ever handed down, for delays in installing lines.

BT has set aside £300m to repay providers for the delays.

Openreach has “apologised wholeheartedly”; for the mistakes.

Gaucho Rasmussen, Ofcom’s investigations director, said: “These high-speed lines are a vital part of this country’s digital backbone.

“We found BT broke our rules by failing to pay other telecoms companies proper compensation when these services were not provided on time.

“The size of our fine reflects how important these rules are to protect competition and, ultimately, consumers and businesses.”

Dan Howdle, consumer telecoms analyst at Ofcom-accredited broadband advice site Cable.co.uk, says: “Today’s ruling offers insight into just some of the factors contributing to Ofcom’s decision to split BT and Openreach into two separate entities. Clearly, being the sole owner of shared infrastructure has given rise to precisely the sort of conflict of interest of which BT has long been accused.

“Customers must never be allowed to become collateral damage in the battle to gain the upper hand in the market. Fines such as this, painful though they are for those on whom they are levied, are vital in maintaining a fair, competitive marketplace in which business can thrive.”

the result of the ofcom ruling against BT today means that BT will have to pay £300million compensation to third party telecoms providers...which of course includes Talt talk. that should help cover the dividend... thanks BT

Not much joy from tt retentions, 30quid pm for fibre and all calls and a free sim. But i have another 2 months of my contract, so will have another bash then. The sky and bt deals are 1 year things, and i can't be bothered with the hassle of switching every year. tt offers a fixed price for 2 years (which would be ok if it were 1/3rd lower). bt has a new deal on mse today, but relies on a big cashback being claimed, and in a year you're back to square one again.

With my 18 month contract fibre talktalk about to expire, i deided to look around to see what else is in on offer. Myt bills have risen from about £12pm to now £30pm as the special offers on various bits have gone to full price (line rental, 24/7 calls, fbre, and forget what else), and there's another fiver to add on at 18 months. Just had the mse sky offer through, 12 quid instead of £32 or something, and a fifty quid bill credit. By the time i'dadded on all the bits and bobs to make it the same as i have now, the monthly payment rose to more than i'm paying talktalk, and the sky was full of offers which expire at intervals, so would end up much more.

So sticking with tt unless a better deal comes along. Just realised i could have had a free sim all this time too, with a decent allowance, another freebie to add in for those more on the ball than me.
