07/8/2017 20:02 | At 192p, a solid recovery from its 150p depths in February. Deutsche at 230p and RBC at 225p appear to have the directional momentum right given TalkTalk's recent resilience and price surge. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
04/8/2017 13:30 | hi pierre.. thanks, i had missed that point. however they wouldnt need to own copper between london and manchester.. its just your home to the local exchange.. the exchgnge will carry out the rest. i thought they had their own trunks in the exchanges. i admit i don't know precisely what they own in that regards. none the less the news does help even if it means saving a few pence per month per line, can add upto significant savings.. | rajaster
04/8/2017 11:08 | Following on from my post 2354, nice to see that Toscafund have made it official now! | 1gw
03/8/2017 13:53 | I have Talktalk for business and personal. Bt have always come to connect the fibre, both at home and work. | ph1ts
03/8/2017 12:41 | I'm no expert on the bb infrastructure raj, but are you saying that talktalk own a fibre cable between say london and manchester (and every other city)? Everything i've been fed on fibre says that bt own those cables, and everyone else rents bandwidth from bt, except in a few very small cases like York et al). I mean, the charges the regualtor has been on about recently are precisely those bandwidth, or access, charges from everyone else to bt. So could you expand what you're saying? | pierre oreilly
03/8/2017 11:58 | Maybe Taltalk own a lot of their own kit at the exchanges | septimus quaid
03/8/2017 11:10 | i thought we own all our own llu kit.. which has been upgraded for fibre.. we have 90% coverage of uk.. the remaining comes from BT. thats how talktalk were offering fibre fast than BT a few years back its the 21CN youre talking which is much faster than the 40 mb lines.. | rajaster
02/8/2017 18:56 | RAJ, Afaiia talk only own fibre (very high speed fibre) in York, they need bt for everywhere else. Soon they'll expand to clifton in bristol ,,, i think. | pierre oreilly
02/8/2017 18:00 | rajaster - virtually ALL the UK's fibre is through BT's Openreach - Virgin have some of their own and Cityfibre KCOM but after that there is little else. | fenners66
02/8/2017 15:40 | For an individual company, surely anything that damages the competitiveness of the opposition must be a good thing? | septimus quaid
02/8/2017 14:43 | Talktall dont need access to bt for most of uk.. So doesnt have a massive impact anyway. | rajaster
02/8/2017 14:35 | Today's Times: Ofcom proposes price caps to give rivals easier access to BT's broadband network "cheaper and easier access to BT's ducts and poles" | septimus quaid
31/7/2017 15:25 | No, but it is nice and sharp, not fuzzy-vision like some satellite channels. | ph1ts
31/7/2017 15:02 | Is that in HD? | fenners66
29/7/2017 13:08 | Just added Sky Sports to my TV package. £8.50 a month, £25.50 discount for 18 months is great value for all the sports channels! I think a lot of people will take them up on it. | ph1ts
26/7/2017 19:38 | I ignore brokers - waste of time ime (in my experience) | davr0s
26/7/2017 17:48 | More broker negativity: Broker Forecast - Numis issues a broker note on TalkTalk Telecom Group PLC 25th July 2017 12:10 | TalkTalk Telecom Group PLC Numis today initiates coverage of TalkTalk Telecom Group PLC (LON:TALK) with a reduce investment rating and price target of 150p. Talk haven't many friends in brokerland at the mo. Sir Charles needs to get out there and sell the story. | septimus quaid
21/7/2017 08:28 | Yesterday RBC REITERATES its OUTPERFORM recommendation with TARGET PRICE of 225p. Encouraging update from Vodafone today may help to bolster sector sentiment. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
20/7/2017 22:54 | Seems to survive the adverse comment. Am encouraged by the Chairmanship and the new CEO. The disparity between broker recommendations at this stage of recovery is unsurprising. I am holding unchanged and am tempted to increase. | mayers
20/7/2017 10:12 | 2 re-iterations this morning according to the N&P site, one for the bears and one for the bulls: 150 Underweight JP Morgan Cazenove 225 Outperform RBC Capital Markets | 1gw
19/7/2017 13:06 | Very strong and buoyant Q1 update this morning. The long march begins. Guidance reconfirmed. Business-focused side of TAlkTalk performing strongly. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
19/7/2017 08:53 | Always like to see Toscafund arrive on the shareholder register of companies I hold! Here's hoping they make it "official" by going over 5% and issuing a holdings notice. This morning's trading statement and the call in progress seem fairly unexciting. Good to see guidance confirmed at least. | 1gw
18/7/2017 20:56 | Martin Hughes seems to have taken a shine to TALK recently ! Talktalk Telecom Group PLC: Toscafund Asset Management LLP as of 18 Apr 2017: 40.03m: 4.19% | masurenguy
18/7/2017 20:49 | Yes the brokers targets are not particularly encouraging at the moment. Still, I remember QP highlighting all the bullish analyst views before the fall, so most analysts don't seem to have a good track record on talktalk. Haitong, who always seemed incredibly bearish at the time when they started pushing their 150p target, actually turned out to have been more or less spot on, whether by luck or good judgement. I see their target had come down to 115p by February, according to the N&P database. What price some kind of trading statement or announcement to accompany the AGM tomorrow? | 1gw |
