Talktalk Telecom Group Plc : JP Morgan cuts to underweight from neutral.

Also UK's Ofcom to examine rising landline prices to protect elderly. Ofcom said all major landline providers had increased line rental charges by between 28 percent and 41 percent in recent years, despite the wholesale cost of providing the service falling 25 percent."So we're reviewing this market to ensure these customers are protected and getting value for money." The regulator said it would examine whether measures were needed to protect those customers, and it expected to publish a consultation in early 2017.

Those are two ENORMOUS purchases by NED, Roger Taylor.

840,631 shares at 162.2p, (£1,364,112.90) and

1,159,369 shares at 155.6p (£1,806,105.60).

He just bought TWO MILLION shares for a total of £3.17million.


That is jaw-dropping.

If that's not a strong DIRECTOR BUY SIGNAL, I don't know what is.

The fast elevator up.

Well, the 5 year support line is around 120 but I agree that 150 may well be the bottom but having been burnt once here I am in absolutely no hurry to get back in again.

Well whether through good analysis or coincidence, it appears Haitong have called the talktalk share price much better than nearly all the other analysts (although Jefferies has also had a "low" target price for a while).

So I'm hoping that now we're pretty much at their 150p target, they might decide that's enough and the future looks a bit brighter.

Strange how the Haitong updates never seem to get a mention on QP's thread...

Having taken a loss here I still have it on my watch list as I do feel that the share price is now in bombed out territory but equally there is no point trying to invest until the share price stabilises.
The market clearly expects the divi to be cut at least in half and I would have to say that I agree with that synopsis but we are now at a level where even a 50% cut still leaves a very healthy divi.

It is strange. Several other companies have been equally hacked since talk, and their price has hardly batted an eyelid. Not sure why talk has been and continues to be so devastated. The fundamentals seem as strong to me as they ever were. I'd guess that shorting outfits can short enough to drive the price down which then affects sentiment. In retrospect, the open admission of the hack was a mistake and dido should have tried to hush it up as many companies are doing I suspect.

Grr, £10k profit to £6k loss in 18 months

I often think there is just too much rigged against the small investor.

Executives continuing to draw vast salaries, seemingly oblivious to it all.

Are these companies so fragile that some young lad playing around with a computer in his bedroom can cause their virtual destruction?
