Housebuilders need to build faster, says Nationwide

I'm amazed that the market is so nervous as to mark down housebuilder on this irrelevance, since inception 86000 houses new and old have been funded this way, a drop in the ocean of the total transactions that took place , and as the Chancellor implies this was a post credit crunch sticking plaster that is irrelevant in today's more competive mortgage market.

From The Guardian:

"Other help-to-buy schemes will continue until 2020, including the five-year, interest-free equity loans available for up to 20% of the property price when a buyer has raised their own 5% for a deposit. However, that scheme is only available for new-build homes".

Tried to get a mortgage two years ago, broker told me to come back in my next life, too old and being self-employed big negatives, happier renting in a beautiful cottage in Yorkshire, today's houses built for dwarfs and rabbits, couldn't swing a cat in most of them, next home might be an RV., mobility becoming more interesting, we need to go the US way and start like being 'trailer trash'!

Think the Chairmans outlook and comments about Brexit didn't help possibly. The numbers were sound, just a chairman that wants to make political points for his own agenda no doubt.DD
