26/6/2015 08:13 | Scary report about PSN house quality and design on last nights Watchdog. Leaving people in houses with scaffolding erected for a year to support structures that would otherwise fall down. I susoect the company should issue an RNS because it looks like the remedial works could have a material financial impact. | melody9999
24/6/2015 11:10 | Shares in housebuilder Persimmon have risen by 64% over the last year and by 26% so far in 2015. Despite these gains, the firm still offers an attractive trailing yield of 4.8%, which is expected to rise to 6.0% in 2016, as Persimmon continues with its plan to return surplus cash to shareholders. In Persimmon's latest trading update, the firm reported forward sales revenues 7% of £2.0bn for the first fifteen weeks of 2015, 7% higher than at the same point last year. Weekly sales were up 6% on this time last year, while the firm's current average selling price of £207,900 is 4% higher than last year. The current housing bull market looks likely to run for longer than I expected, but investors need to watch out for any signs of interest rates rising. This could dampen house prices and slow sales. | tailon

17/4/2015 08:20 | I'm sure builders next set of results will be stonking but FT article, global property bubble fears mount is an understatement,s/e tradesmen up to 200quid a day and we are supposed to have zero inflation, with london prices up 20% in a yr, UK btl investments from this level will show negative returns for yrs to come hobbs from MSCI says QE is sucking in real estate capitol because debt finance is so cheap, capitol flight to london from china & russia has come to a standstill | mike24
16/4/2015 08:15 | I sold yesterday not realising there was an update today, so I got lucky. I think these may drift lower for a while before attempting a breakout to 2000. I intend to buy back in for the 2017 capital return as this is a good company with sound prospects. I am also reducing some of my holdings ahead of the general election as I think the FTSE is in for a bumpy ride. | audigger
20/3/2015 18:57 | Certainly, "special" dividends, along with Capital Return options, are all the rage these days. Payers of "special" dividends also pay their normal interim and final dividends... NXT for example. They're given out because the companies have more cash than they know what to do with or, as BKG Tony Pidgely says, for "capital discipline". I'm a collector of "special" dividends and have a stable of them (and don't pay tax on the capital returns)! | sogoesit
20/3/2015 13:17 | Thank-you Sledin. I'm sure there must be a technical definition, but I'd assume a 'special' div is one paid in addition to a standard div, not in place of it. ;-) | dr_smith
20/3/2015 12:48 | Digital look, LSE, advfn etc don't usually show special ex-divs, or BC share ex-divs. However this site shows them all: Accordindgly, PSN went ex-div for 95p today, and should of opened down -5.34%. | sledin
20/3/2015 12:23 | Nick - Pleased to hear the drop is ex-div, digital look, LSE, advfn etc oddly showing zero divs for the company. | dr_smith
20/3/2015 11:05 | Good chance to top up anyway :-) | megordon
