Hot potato on the LSE board just stated a 1 code has just gone through he has stated it's signalling another MN RNS will be announced,is there any basis for this statement?

Well done on getting that right diamond, but I would also like to ask the same question as rafboy, are you expecting another this year?

There seems to be a breakout of common sense on this board this morning. Everyone's being nice and logical. Perhaps sanguine is the word whilst waiting for more hard information, backed up by an increasing mountain of background developments.

fos,
Agree
All good for those of us in now
Most long termers are fully loaded
Not much fresh meat buying
That's why the sellers have been in control

Can't disagree with that JJ, I'm relatively new to this share, so the way news is coming (before the numbers start to drop) works for me because each news release increases my confidence in the business but at the same time, I have more opportunity to build a decent position as funds become available.

Absolutely
But it is for those reasons the share price is stagnant
Not enough hard info out there for the masses and very few private investors will even be aware of us
imho

When you get those JJ, many more deals would have been signed and the share price will be way north of £1.00 . They can wait if they wish.

I'm happy with the progress
But
Most investors (especially new ones) like numbers,%'s, profit on cost, test results, margins etc etc
Transparency, corporate names. All decidedly lacking at the moment
Long termers happy
New investors need more info
imho

Give it chance Suzy. We were up 4% yesterday and both the bid and offer are moving up slowly today, so hopefully we'll end blue. Does sometimes take a while for such news to sink in.

I wonder why hardly any positive movement. This RNS seemed so much better than the wishy washy ones earlier this year. Still no concrete names or numbers perhaps that's why?

The option to sell up and re-enter is always there...however this is AIM and our share price could easily double in a week (without any news).

The past 12 months has significantly reduced the risks of our investments, yet we are 30 odd percent lower than last Christmas. I believe at some point the market will cotton on and add suitable value to our progress AND the phenomenal potential this company has got! IMHO

IMO in years to come, us LTHs will be very grateful that we had the opportunity to accumulate in the 65-85p range for such a long period of time. I ended up being grateful that helium were selling at 40p and kept the price in the 30-40p range for so long - despite cursing them at the time. When you're in such a revolutionary area of science, where partner companies are trying out things for the very first time, you can't expect deals to happen overnight. They take time. Yes it's taken longer than anyone here expected, but with SOH's past experience, I trust that he'll be getting the best deals for shareholders in the LONG RUN. I'm very confident about the company's future and like many here, expect a share price trend reversal in 2017 as further developments unfold. And let's face it, there is so much to look forward to. Another cracking deal announced today just for starters, next year we'll be moving on to the main course.

Neft: for me your post is spot on ... except for one comment: 'those who are still here will eventually reap the benefits'.

Fact is the share price has sunk so far that - as of now - anyone getting in below - say - 80p will do more or less as well as those who have held out from higher (I've sold 7/8 of my holding over the last 6 months). Anyone coming in with the share price around where it is now, on genuinely 'ground breaking' news i.e. a deal with ACTUAL figures attached, will have benefitted from not tying up their money for a year, and will not have taken the risk involved in holding an unproven company.

And - some are not going to like this - but I suspect the deals, when they come, will be upfront payment which will add - say - 5 / 10p to the sp, and the rest will be on product performance.

I may be wrong and SOH may well be able to hold out for a more substantial upfront - we shall see.

Best of luck to all LTH's (which still includes me - but not by a large amount any more).

Mike

Another factor that will influence the share price is that at least three of platforms are being exploited through new Joint Venture Companies (JVCs). We know that OPTI have a majority ownership in Skinbiotix and also in Healthy Weight Loss company and maybe will also have at least 50% share of the JV with this Asian MN (and there may be other JVC's that I have forgotten about). So, OPTI will not only make profit from the royalties paid by the JV for the science/IP but also from the increase in value of the JVCs themselves

allanrussell (post 17884), he (someuwin) may be a bit of a ramper, but his thoughts at that time 31/12/15, were my thoughts and i bet the thoughts of many others.
He, i and others really thought that OPTI was to break its way throuigh the 100p barrier and on to much more.
The share price at 31/12/15 was 90p. Although as soh has indicated, it has been a year of great signifcance concering the science and headway in probable jv deals, the share price has gone backwards, maybe it overreached (got ahead of) itself in 2015, after coming up from a mere 8p. Obviously the no real concrete monetised deal has not materialised.
So things share price wise have not come up to scratch in 2016 and has left LTH and others who have bought in at the 65/85p level highly irritated/frustrated.
So things have not worked out according to how shareholders would have liked, share price wise. These deals have taken longer to finalise that had been hoped for and we should perhaps had anticipated this, although soh did not help by being over exuberant in his excitement over the perceived expectations of the value in terms of OPTI m/c (maybe even he was caught out by the length of time it takes to cement a deal).
BUT, imo, the aspirations of a much higher share price is still on the cards in 2017, as actual money making deals are finally made open via RNS deals and so those who are still here will eventually reap the benefits.

risky - A couple of observations from my perspective. 1; OPTI have created a NEW area of science which can be used in existing and new products. To my mind OPTI can not be valued as pharma just yet....that is for the future I am sure (my assumption you are using as a pharma PE), 2; If I am correct, the pharma sector had an average PE ratio nearer 25 in 2015, in the same period a health care sector had a PE of 16. I'm inclined to agree a PE somewhere between 10-15 is about right for a cautious investor and someway off what is generally accepted a growth company PE of between 20-25. Of course, until we have numbers to crunch we can only have fun guesstimating future valuations.

Today's announcement highlights the growing corporate interest in this space. it's an excellent early sign that these multinationals have confidence and are clearly interested in using Optis science. There's being cautious and then there's pessimistically cautious which the many seem to be on opti at the moment. Of course you should keep your feet firmly on the ground, but there is much more reason to be excited than to not. The mkt cap is £50m. This sector the usual value is 10 - 15x earnings. It is pretty realistic, especially with existing partners and the yet to sign partners (more likely than not we'll get at least a couple on board from the 5 behind the scenes. The 1st one is a multi billion £ major player), any one of the 4 divisions could easily get £5m + sales once the tech really starts rolling out. Opti has 4 rolls at the dice to underpin the current mkt cap. The optibiotic division even has 3 separate large target market areas within itself. Competitors years away from the market. microbiome getting much more coverage due to the increasing breakthroughs. Vastly growing private and government investment in the space. All platforms seem to be going scientifically better than expected. £3m+ still in the bank. Of course it's not dead certain but the risk to reward here weighs heavier in investors favour. Especially at 60p!

Yes indeed JH. Just listened to it. Very positive and explains the logic for NDA and the importance for all parties. I see another very good reason for NDA, which SOH did not mention...OPTI are negotiating with 6 MN's - there is a strong likelihood these companies will cross commercial pathes, so of course this is a very delicate balancing act OPTI find themselves in.
