26/5/2016 11:31 | Nicely up on the £1.37 I paid as a staff member in the Save As You Earn share scheme in 1995. 5,004 shares at 1.37. Paid my mortgage off when I was 40 and still got 2,000 shares left, all now transferred tranche by tranche into an ISA. Wish I'd sold at £80 and bought them back at 50, but that's life. They'll get there again. Pardon my gloat, it's a rare pleasure for me. | lordbung

17/5/2016 22:56 | It's to replace a current bond that matures later this year. This taken from the year end results RNS:"Our balance sheet is financed through total facilities of GBP1,338m, made up of GBP788m of bonds and GBP550m of committed bank facilities. In October 2016, our GBP213m bond matures and during the year we intend to replace this with a further bond of between GBP250m and GBP350m." | coulso
17/5/2016 10:11 | I am puzzled by why the company needs to raise £300 million by the sale of bonds. There is a brief statement in the prospectus on the proposed use of the proceeds and the only one that makes sense to me is to re finance existing debt at a lower interest rate. I would welcome comments from anyone knowledgeable on these matters. | rvsy38
