Understand the sentiment, but they are not out of options.

Next comes huge fiscal programmes, infrastructure spend etc (much of which is needed)
If necessary, they give people money through VAT free purchases etc,
they will go to a universal income as one option.


I know it may sound la la land stuff, but think that's the direction in
which we are heading. Borrowing costs have plunged so governments can service debt very cheaply.

I do actually. It is based on the consensus view of climate experts and not the view of a few disgruntled so-called scientists who want to make money from speeches, books, YouTube views and immoral, self-interested businesses. ;)

House prices have been overvalued for 10 years...thanks to low rates foreign and BTL parasites giving prices a helping hand.

mitchy : I'm no longer a holder.I am now 100% cash although am tempted to short the FTSE. Genuinely consider there is no quick fix for the global economy. The current situation is far worse than 2008 and governments have run out of options. I can see the FTSE at 5000 AND LLOYDS trading at 25p ...which it did back in 2011 or so. The next crop of bankruptcies could make PPI look like a minor blip . BE CAREFUL.

fyi, i assume viral research is conducted under normal scientific disciplines, like all the science i have worked in. Climate science is conducted under post-normal science where most scientific discipline is discarded. Influence is the aim in pns and climate science, truth (the aim of proper science) is discarded in the quest for influence.

Way above your tiny head min, don't worry yourself unduly over it. Just follow what a 16 yo truant schoolgirl with several mental issues tells you. That's where you'll find proper science!

I think UK will head into recession. I think house prices are overvalued. A correction in Dubai and India was already underway.

Covid-19 is the last straw for a lot of businesses that were already suffering because of Brexit, slowdown in the high street.
Fewer people travelling will hit tourism.

Jan to March is a busy time for holiday companies as thousands of Brits book their summer holidays.. so tourism will be hit..

We could still end up with a NO deal Brexit by June, which won't help..

I was thinking of LLOYs at around 50p...

Mr Elbee, not sure which bit your experts say are different from what my experts say. Could you elaborate? (And i realise different experts have different views - I've heard quite a bit from Prof Oxford at QMU, plus general news items where other experts are interviewed).

I myself have no basis to have any view of how the virus will progress, just have to take what experts say at face value.

Please keep this thread focused and not descend into the chaos and unpleasantness of the other Lloyds thread. It can be so unpleasant that you need to avoid it before turning in for the evening.

Volatility that we are experiencing in the markets can be a bonus for investing but it does mean that one has to be extra alert.

That infected about 8,000?, This virus has officially topped 100,000 reported cases,
the unofficial number(unreported) will be a multiple of that. And it's only just begun.
