15/7/2013 12:35 | The Government should invoke any penalty clauses that they can They need every bit of PR they can muster as UKIP run them ragged and the numbers of Asylum seekers goes towards 1m Perhaps they could be tagged to prevent them just disappearing into the poplace without trace GFS could lose the whole contract .... certainly the Government should insist on a price cut. Lets have a Yank outfit running the prison system .... let them sort the tagging also They have much experience in these matters whilst our lot play at it | buywell2
15/7/2013 12:28 | Maybe even today. And BUCKLES walked away with a BUNDLE, thought they is a security "COMPANY" ? | hvs
15/7/2013 12:16 | An anal probe would be more apt What a bunch of @rseholes My 200p looks likely by tomorrow | buywell2
15/7/2013 12:10 | Interesting take by Peston.... 'Security firm G4S says it asked for police probe' | philanderer
14/7/2013 19:38 | Does that mean the Board of Directors at G4S and the well paid OFF BUCKLES wil also take lie detector tests as G4S seems to be front runner for more FREE TAX PAYER MONEY ? Anyone know ? | hvs
14/7/2013 15:21 | Makes the handshake for Buckles all the more sour | phsycho
14/7/2013 15:11 | GFS share price will be in downward spiral now. The new boss will have licence to kitchen sink all the bad news, repair the balance sheet with a deeply discounted rights issue and lay all the problems at the door of his predecessors. In addition, GFS will get kicked out of the FTSE at the September review. I'm very short GFS and will keep shorting the dog .Easy money for the next few months. | miti 1000
14/7/2013 12:18 | He believes that up to one in six offenders monitored by G4S and Serco were "phantom offenders" that is, already back in custody, abroad or dead during the period when bills for monitoring their whereabouts were still being paid. The minister wants to look at the two contractors' behaviour possibly stretching back as far back as 1999. | jonc
14/7/2013 12:17 | If 1 in 6 invoices for tagging over the last 14 years are false that is an almighty big refund to make! | jonc
14/7/2013 12:03 | Why would they need a rights issue , surely things are not that bad ? | hazelton
14/7/2013 11:44 | Is it true that the Board have started talking about a no doubt deepy discounted rights issue so they can then approve more payoffs and BONUSES, the money has to come from somewhere for jobs very poorly done. Do they think they are a bank by any chance ? | hvs
14/7/2013 11:18 | Meanwhile, parts of Almanza's counterclaim have been emerging. The G4S boss blames the court and prison services for failing to formally end curfew notices to which the billing process was linked. Whether such an argument has legal merit or not, it is surely devastatingly toxic for G4S's reputation. Was it really prepared to keep taking millions from the taxpayer for offenders whose need for monitoring it knew to be non-existent? Or was there negligence at play? Neither sit well. | jonc
14/7/2013 09:01 | Questor AKA Garry White had Avocet Mining (AVM) as a BUY and HOLD From the AVM thread where I forcast it's drop from well over £2 ..... NOW less than 7p and probably likely to go bust He probably still has a HOLD on it. This was the post I did below buywell2 19 Jun'13 - 08:02 - 194 of 203 0 0 edit Yes .... and remember that plonker from the Telegraph's Garry White 'Questor' ...who put a BUY REC on this POS last year ... ''Questor last tipped the shares at 226p in January and they are now an unhelpful 71pc below this level after last week's plunge.'' Where do they dig these chumps up from ? Garry White should man up and print a retraction Big problems for AVM are 1. Falling GOLD price V high production costs in Africa (circa $1100 per oz) 2. Poor grades in Africa 3. An untried CEO 4. Political unrest in the region 5. Bad GOLD Hedge arranged 6. Loss of credibility as a mining company within the investment community 7. No BOD buying at the current depressed levels hardly inspires confidence 8.$USD expected to rise in 2014 = GOLD lower next year and this one 9. Elliot Mgmt who own 27% of AVM shares Loaned $15m to AVM this will probably be refinanced later this year ...... watch out for the 'Dilution Ahead' warning sign. | buywell2
14/7/2013 08:16 | I heard it reported that GFS have refused to let the Government do a in depth audit | buywell2
12/7/2013 20:46 | Only one tenth of turnover is with the government - and how much of that is profitable is debatable. I don't yet hold but, get the rights issue away in reasonable time and fashion and this baby will fly (IMO). | kiwi2007
12/7/2013 20:39 | Is they getting more taxpayer funded contracts then ????? Money for nothing. | hvs
12/7/2013 20:35 | like fundamentals mater do u know why it closed @ 210? | el chupacabra
12/7/2013 20:31 | G4S probably have an automated billing system that runs and bills for the full term of the tagging order OR until told to stop by HMG's representatives in the civil service. And that's probably written in stone in their contract with HMG. That the civil service don't have a system in place to correctly inform G4S when someone is untagged is down to them and probably not G4S or SERCO. When I subcontracted to various UK government institutions I found most were suckers for 'punishment' as far as contracts and the running correctly of were concerned- in fact they pulled the wool over their own eyes in many cases - if you see what I mean. ""Grayling told MPs an entirely new contract management team had been put in place at the JUstice department "The permanent secretary is also instituting disciplinary investigations to consider whether failings on the part of individual members of staff (civil servants) constitute misconduct", he said....." | kiwi2007
12/7/2013 18:17 | wotcha GFS traders | el chupacabra
12/7/2013 18:15 | Thought the OXBRIDGE Brigade was BUYING ? | hvs
12/7/2013 17:43 | GFS could get creamed if the Government renogotiate tagging contracts based upon this problem or Worse still they lose it completely say to a YANK outfit. | buywell2 |
