But G4S has dropped 4.5p to 285.3p, the biggest faller in the leading index after a downgrade from HSBC. The bank moved from neutral to underweight, saying:


We think the market is disproportionately focused on G4S' UK public sector travails, which is 10% of group revenues. Instead, a much bigger risk is building. Manned security pricing is very weak in many developed markets, which makes cost recovery difficult and squeezes gross margins.

STATEMENT REGARDING LONDON 2012 GAMES SECURITY CONTRACT

G4S, the international secure outsourcing group, today announces that it has agreed a financial settlement with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games ("LOCOG") in respect of the provision of the security workforce for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games ("the Games").

The terms of the settlement mean that G4S will incur an overall loss on the contract of approximately GBP70 million. The group has also incurred additional costs of approximately GBP11 million, relating to charitable donations and external fees and a further GBP7 million relating to the cost of sponsorship and marketing. All of these costs will be taken in the 2012 accounts as an exceptional charge ( GBP50 million having been provided for at the half year based on the previous contract loss estimate). The main difference between the previous estimate and the final settlement is an agreement to waive a larger proportion of the project management charge.

I haven't looked at this for a long while. My last chart post 577 19 Nov turned out to be the very bottom of the retracement.

Latest WEEKLY CHART target 295 is just above the ATH 293.4 reached last March.
Trend line from 2012 highs circa 288.

RNS - Invesco Limited increased by 17 million shares. Thay had doubled their holding on 19 Oct from 71 to 142 million (10%) and now hold 11.3%

Got a chart buy signal at the end of the day when passing 263.8.
