The Goldplat graph really is a think of beauty isnt it? Very easy to overlook that many of us here are sitting on very nice gains. I have taken some off the table into the rise, but this well run company with plenty going for it has plenty more to go in 2017.

willywonky,

it may be a free bb, however, common sense and an appropriate post on the appropriate board would seem like the most likely course of action anyone with even the tiniest amount of intelligence would follow.

I don't recall the conversation so you had better refer it to Oldsmokie.

However the term , for the OLD WEST can be applied to those seeking their fortune with GDP as its been well and truly salted

Poorly written up contracts that perhaps lined the former contracts manager's and others pockets. He seems to be doing well right now supposedly starting from scratch.

Did GDP pay for directors' numerous holidays.....I wonder.

I expect it is being commissioned and won't report it till it is up and going. I have known sometimes they need a spare part which takes time to get there etc etc. However as it is a major development it would be good to hear that it is a goer.

On Ghana the 5% royalty is on top of the 8% tax. I reckon the numbers for before & after an elution column and production of 12kozs are possibly;

Ghana £m W/o elution elutiont/o 7.8m 9.75m5% royalty 0.39 0.49 Op profit 0.8 1.78% tax 0.064 0.13 Post tax profit 0.73 1.57

You may believe what you wish dear boy, however this is a free bb and all posters are entitled to post on this thread providing of course that foul language etc is not used.

To be fair you have a simple alternative if you wish to be a moderator, which is to pay up and create your own thread on the pbb.

Tegmine,

I believe that the UKIP thread, the one that your conversation with miller and oldsmok1e began, is the best place to try and get hold of miller in order to continue it.

A poster posting as 'oldsmokie' claims that the only way that you would be capable of finding even a speck of gold was if you salted a site the previous day.

What does 'salted' mean?

Will you please explain your method.

Anyway, its high time we heard about the CIL plant in Kenya becoming operational.
I am looking for this to be confirmed in a general Q2, end of H1 update in the next two to three weeks.

Agreed sentiment and politics and US$ all contribute to the price of Gold as does speculation. The fact is that with heavy buying in both China and India and the Trump Brexit Euro effect should have resulted in an increase in POG but it did not. Which is why I try not to second guess it. Gold mining stocks certyainly leverage the POG which is why every sane person should have a Gold related stock in their portfolio. GDP is a happy medium because to some extent it operates in a contractual way to mitigate POG price changes.

Gold is written into human Psyche and as such has so much sentiment towards it, that its stock level above ground isn't really given much thought. It is seen as rare and precious and holds value. Iirc all the gold ever mined accounts for about 24 grammes per person.

Paper gold is an issue which isn't going away anytime soon.

GDP is not as good on the leverage front, however, its business is margin based and doesn't capture the full value of any increases in the POG, which we know.

I am not sure a supply and demand view of the gold market is correct with output determined at the margin. Gold is not destroyed and there is a large stock relative to current production. Then there is the problem of paper gold.

Then there is how the price of gold affects GDP. Clearly it is not one to one otherwise a $100/oz change would lead to a $4m change in profitability, which it doesn't.

There is certainly better leverage through equity. The more marginal the equity the better the leverage. In this respect GDP is not as good a leverage as some.

MF,

As far as I am concerned the POG will always have a floor around the average cost of production across the industry, whatever that is at the time and then its increases or decreases will be primarily sentiment driven.

If it drops below the average cost of production then the mining industry starts to grind to a halt and new production drops off. This will create the view that Gold above ground will be in shorter supply and will likely stimulate a price rise to the level whereby an optimum number of mines can operate. Too higher price of gold and the market stalls as no one wants to buy it and it drops back again.

The strength in the gold complex is usually skewed to the upside as market, political or currency turmoil creates unlimited upside, however, the downside is protected to some degree by the average cost of production.

For as long as we have numerous, volatile paper currencies, which are subject to the whims of the politicians and bankers, then the historically proven constant that Gold is, will always have a place in society.

I have always sought exposure to Gold through equities, better leverage in my view.

Down a tad again I see, well I did warn ya'll.

What you all fail to realise is that no matter how drunk and unpopular Mortitz was/is, he has had the last laugh over you mugs as he has set the true value of this dawgie, buying as he did at 2p. He had ample opportunity to buy at say 5 or 4, even at 3, but no he knew where the value was and rubbed all your silly noses right in it when he bought at just 2p........the price that Dan values the pup at. Even Gommergob for all his big talk had to follow Dan's advice at the end of the day.

Now just watch this slip right down the scales 2p for sure maybe even one ,if things don't improve. I mean chaps how much longer can Green, who has never really achieved anything, except to mouth off on Proactive, keep coming up with feeble excuses.....

You tell me!
