Expedited procedures speed up a process and cut through tape. Of course we don't know the topic.

Suggestions of a special dividend as two years ago are being discussed to reinvigorate the share price.

The word is the present paltry dividend is holding back big funds from taking a position here given the volatility in the PM markets so such an announcement that it is under consideration again would be welcome.

It is beginning to look like macro issues alone are not enough to break out from the £9-10 range...even the yen strength is having little impact on silver prices really.

Top - If Japan goes more negative what would you do with your cash? This is about confidence in the system; I think the system is broken and have not too much money in the bank.

Do you note the Ag price? :)

Jamesiebaby, thanks but if BoJ reacts as is expected then it is bad for silver again surely?

Unless they haven't got the ammunition to weaken the yen any more as some pundits are suggesting and consequently something else drastic will need to be done? Not my job!

FRES seems to be anticipating the rise in silver thats hopefully due!

Top - we seem to be going now. We need some more conviction and get through $15.20; this $15.15-$15.20 has been recent short term resistance; with USDJPY collapsing it helps.

If it continues the BoJ will have to do something, aimho.

I suspect we'll see silver drift lower into the 10.30am fix and then miraculously see the price of the PM's go north again. :)

Top - it looks like the USDJPY is having another go.

If you look at Ag on the monthly chart, the MACD is showing a massive divergence; the trend could be explosive if/when $16 is taken out. Volume will be key.

---------------------------------------

Perhaps I misunderstood this post then Jamesiebaby? Sorry if so but we conversed a bit and it did seem like $16 was likely if $110 USD/JPY came to pass, and now we are at 108!

I can't imagine they've turned the computers off but maybe have taken their ball home, lol.

LOL USDJPY up : PM's down. :) This is fun to watch as the algo's go mad trying to prop the USD up against the Yen.

FRES needs Ag to go through $15.15 convincingly over the next few days.

Top - I'm not sure I said if 111 goes we'll see $16, but I did say there was a correlation and it has started again after a couple of weeks off. It's as if they turned the computers off, weird or straight playing games?

USDJPY down : PM's up.

I'll do a chart this evening when the GLD closes to show the inverted correlation.

Lol. Ever felt like a cork bobbing about on the sea of finance Hectorp?

No idea which way or what current is going to propel us next! I guess we await the next set of 'key' indicators, whatever they might be...perhaps nothing much until the end of April Fed meeting?

Or will the yen strength finally bust gold and silver back to highs of last month? Or maybe the quarterly earnings season data will show Wall Street is not doing as well as expected, like Yellen has been hinting?

I don't reckon the £11 sign at Fresnillo will be appearing anytime soon whatever surprises are in store. A bit of VIX action notwithstanding!

Vix is up today but has drifted recently, a higher vix may help silver and gold. Well - something better do.

Indeed Jamesiebaby but despite veering downwards to perhaps even sub-110 it still has lost its correlation with silver that you recently mentioned, when, if I recall, you said a fall to 110 would see $16 for silver.

A long way of that I'm afraid mate...but perhaps overnight? The gold reaction was better, as Hectorp noted so at least some correction of sorts that you would expect.

Overall I reckon nothing is making sense or reacting as it should in these ultra weird and, yes, still volatile times so as before, if you can afford to, keep adding on these dips. Just wait and see the pessimism once the next imminent quarterly earnings season fails to excite in the States...

And isn't Greece back in vogue? Lol.

USD/JPY could be a fake break out. I think gold needs a spike below $1200 before the next leg up.

In fact 110.48 as I type Jamsie so it would appear the correlation you mentioned before does not exist anymore mate.

No sign of the $16 level for silver being broken as USD/JPY went below $111 after all.

This could be done to the USD/JPY; gold is at a crucial level.

Apropos not very much, but the surge in the rand after the South African court found against President Zuma has stimulated mining stocks down there...

Once more the dollar rally appears to be facing strong headwinds in emerging markets and as we know that AIDS Yellen's aim to weaken the greenback.

All benefits gold related plays. However, today's action will be driven still when the US non-farm payroll figures are released around lunchtime GMT. April Fool surprises anyone?
