Lots of end of day trades appearing to account for shares mopped up during the day.. appears to be someone accumulating a position or increasing their stake...

retsius - yes looking good.. you haven't jinxed it yet!!! I couldn't figure out if that rally in the last few minutes was real or not???? Will find out Monday I guess....sometimes you get strange moves in the last minute due to unlisted trades or market makers leaving and there only being one left... Well with the NAV up about £5 in the interim period there was some stock price catching up to do.. being in touching distance of £100 NAV is significant.....

If we can get above £100 at the next NAV release in July that will be worth getting the champagne out for!!!

retsius - you jinkxed it!!!! Shares now down at £58.... next news update in July 2017... a reasonable chance we will be above £100 in the NAV then (i.e. for the end of March)

Malcolmmm - if it gets to £100 NAV and a decent dividend increase next year then that should trigger interest. However, July is when full year results will be announced and that is a long-way off.

interesting that the NAV is up £5 from 31 March to 31 September but the stock is flat...one day this share will be in vogue but it seems like a long way off...

Excellent figures today. Have not scoured the accounts yet but as you say NAV at £95!
I wasn't expecting the accounts for another week so it came as a pleasant surprise this morning.
These results are really good especially with the American exposure and strength of the dollar.
What we need now is Simon in the IC to revisit the stock and give it his blessing!

SKYSHIP - you would tie your capital up in Daejan for the very simple reason that it has been successful at long-term value creation. U&I and BLND have not.

So, let's assume for the sake of argument an NAV of £89.

At an share price of £57 this would be trading at a discount of 36% and on a yield of a mere 1.6%!

This compares with, say, Market Blue Chip Belwether stock BLND on a discount of 32% and a yield of 4.9%. Or secondary investment/development play UAI on a discount of 42% and a yield of c7%.

On that basis - why would you leave your capital tied up in the private pension fund of the 80%+ controlling family, who draw salaries of over £1m from their own pension fund, but restrict dividends to outside shareholders of just 1.6%!!

I've been following this appalling company for nigh on 50yrs. In that time the discount has swung from extremes of 55% to 25%. Sure, there are times when you can trade it for the swing in the discount; and also trade it for the cyclical swings in the commercial property sector. But far better to play any other stock in the sector rather than risk being becalmed in the doldrums of Daejan!!!

Get out now, buy a few UAI and look back in 3-4months time - as shall I...

retsius - yes I think the US assets may provide a 2% boost. Then the UK assets will be less of a drag at about 76% of the portfolio and are partly outside of London. So that might be a negative 3% drag. With the dividend having been paid I think we are maybe looking at a 2% NAV decline in the first half.

GPE results today. Assets written down by 4%. If that was applied to DJAN that would translate to NAV of £86.50 per share.
This reduction in assets is about the norm for the property cos. Reporting this week.
Of course DJAN has a large exposure to the US and this should mitigate the Uk revaluation total
