it's in line with local govt mining devlelopment plans, northern powerhouse backing/ automotive grants, old 40 year+ disused site, local people in favour, new jobs, £1bn revenues over 4 years etc, guidance shows could be just 12 weeks to approval..

if approved, offtake agreement with TVL ?

exciting times.

Applying for planning isn't obviously seen as price sensitive. Planning approval most definitely is.

SWNice write up in the telegraph re Weardale - on the volume of lithium alone and the most sustainable extraction methods (DLE) interest will rise v quicklyOf course financing the new extraction plant and the future larger one will be likely through Marechale

Some nice excerpts from the announcement to LSE by Weardale Lithium 'Not only can the site potentially act as a regional centre for producing lithium from multiple locations and sources, but also as a hub for business connected with energy transition and sustainability.'This should be a key supplier to the ALK backed Tees Valley Lithium and its Wilton Lithium Refinery'Scaling up to full commercial production, over the next 4 years, could produce approximately 10,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate per year, creating around 125 jobs and generating an estimated £1bn of gross economic value for the North East region'Thats some estimated income.

Too much value in Weardale which doesn't seem to be going anywhere, Lithium prices don't help and neither does British volt....
