22/4/2024 11:38 | Cash received 5 April - It's over now. | feddie
20/4/2024 08:01 | Will shares just get bought up automatically, or do we need to sell them ourselves? | andy mack
24/3/2024 17:43 | so payment will be made in this tax year ? | haroldthegreat
23/3/2024 11:31 | All over now the founders have backed the bid. For those thinking of CGT the offer is unconditional and will be settled on or before 5 April. | 1jat
20/3/2024 10:58 | haroldthegreat - no | sleepy
20/3/2024 07:42 | Surely brokers have to submit their acceptances on a regular basis and not just at the deadline ? | haroldthegreat
16/3/2024 10:50 | What happens at HL: If you opt in to the take over, the shares are marked as accepted and are not tradeable. You can contact them to get the status changed back. Certainly HL can identify the numbers accepted and I would expect this information is sought by and shared with the deal sponsors. The bid is almost in the last chance saloon. | 1jat
14/3/2024 13:08 | Nominee holders (Retail through online brokers) may not have been accounted for because brokers may be holding their submissions until the deadline. I could vote through AJ Bell but I doubt they are forwarding votes client by client. Not sure what's the weight of this, if any. | feddie
14/3/2024 10:02 | 14 March update is that KKR has received just over 30% acceptances which is a long way short of the 50% they need. | 1jat
12/3/2024 09:31 | It seems likely the bid will lapse to me. PE houses dont like to raise their bids…and I doubt they can move the founders position unless they raise the bid considerably. They should have been brought on board prior to the Board accepting the offer as they have proven to be a flag around which others have gathered. | 1jat
07/3/2024 07:32 | Less than 30% | haroldthegreat
15/2/2024 08:50 | Unconditional means the bid is proceeding - the acceptance period runs to 24 March at present. Today’s update is that KKR has 38% still some way short of going unconditional. I would say there is a good chance of an increase in the bid as there are many hedge funds with a couple of % who are looking for an increased bid…..how much TBC….or there is a good chance the bid will lapse on 24 March…but few want that to happen. | 1jat
14/2/2024 13:47 | if it's declared unconditional, doesn't it remain open for acceptances? | 1c3479z
09/2/2024 08:51 | I have accepted the offer…largely because I dont want to be the owner of unlisted shares. I expect most PIs will do the same. Have gone for the first date so that the bid can go unconditional earlier as it seems there is no counter offer coming. | 1jat
02/2/2024 21:27 | Sounds like you are taking the money and selling into the Takeover? HL have given me until 12th to decide about selling for the 15th so i will decide on 12th…. I dont see another offer emerging….but will wait a week. | 1jat
19/1/2024 11:08 | If Alan Foy and Steve Timoney don’t need dividends then perhaps their smartest move is to hold onto their shares (until KKR subsequently buy them out?) | sleepy
18/1/2024 18:15 | Thanks mrnumpty | sleepy
18/1/2024 17:52 | Sleepy . I hold Yu Group . Its main business is as an energy broker for commercial customers . Just over half the shares are held by the founder and CEO Bobby Kalar ( I realise there are pros and cons in such a situation , but he’s certainly got skin in the game ) . Yu is soon to announce its figures , probably on 24th January . Another energy company in which I gave a smaller holding is Good Energy , which operates in the area of installing heat pumps , solar panels and electric vehicles ( I am very aware that this means the company is exposed to politics ( and therefore possibly a forthcoming new Governnent ) , and a lot of people won’t be able to afford such net zero items , but net zero seems to be written in to primary legislation so , without a change in the law , it seems that net zero is happening whether we want it or not ) . That's an honest answer to you , Sleepy and , as I am aware that you might be looking for a new home for hopefully big profits from SMS , please ensure that you do your own research . For interest , both the companies I mention above are tipped in the monthly magazine Small Company Share Watch , which is not always infallible ! | mrnumpty
18/1/2024 17:24 | Thanks mrnumpty - which company do you hold? | sleepy
18/1/2024 16:47 | There’s a fairly large article on page 20 of today’s Telegraph about the attractiveness for big funds to buy up smart meter companies like SMS , and much of the article refers to SMS . I’ve never owned SMS , but I do own a much smaller company which is expanding its smart meter division for the same reasons as SMS has done . Good luck | mrnumpty
18/1/2024 16:44 | I have never held SMS but , holding shares in a much smaller company which is also building on its installed electric meter business , I noticed an article in today’s Telegraph titled “ Why Wall Street raiders want to control your smart meter “ . It’s written by Michael Bow , it’s on page 20 of the physical version , and it’s sub-titled “ Private equity is out to grab machine suppliers that offer a steady stream of cash “ . Good luck all | mrnumpty
18/1/2024 13:26 | Interesting announcement this morning | sleepy
17/1/2024 15:10 | Take over not going through? share price price falling now.. | bulltradept
14/1/2024 13:32 | I can't see how the Shareholders can think they'll get nore than £9.55 from a TA pov going back over the last 5 - 8 years or so, that would be suicide to reject the deal, as the price would collapse surely. | bulltradept |
