LONDON--Meggitt PLC (MGGT.LN), a manufacturer of aerospace
equipment, sensors and combat systems, said Wednesday that
Snecma--Safran Group has selected Meggitt Sensing Systems to
provide a key package of sensor products for the LEAP-1B
engine.
MAIN FACTS:
-Meggitt estimates the agreement will generate
revenue--including original equipment, spares and repairs of more
than $300 million over the life of this engine.
-The engine will power the Boeing 737MAX, which has already
secured orders for over 1,000 aircraft.
-Meggitt will supply a comprehensive suite of sensing products,
measuring vibration, shaft speed, critical temperatures and oil
level, supporting LEAP engine operators with its global customer
service organization.
-Meggitt shares closed Tuesday at 426.0 pence, valuing the
company at GBP3.34 billion.
