Iconic Building Celebrated its Grand Opening

NAPLES, Fla., Nov. 26, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Gulfshore Playhouse, Gilbane Building Company, and architects H3/Arquitectonica are proud to announce the completion of the Gulfshore Playhouse Baker Theater and Education Center, a new iconic landmark located at the corner of 1st Avenue South and Goodlette-Frank Road in Naples, Florida.

Gilbane, in association with Gates Construction, was selected to perform construction management at-risk services for a new theater and education center to serve the growing needs of Gulfshore Playhouse. The new 45,000-square-foot Baker Theater and Education Center, complete with state-of-the-art acoustics, features a 368-seat main stage and a 125-seat studio stage.

The contemporary Moran Mainstage stage spans 3,000 SF, compared to the previous 600 SF. This substantial upgrade allows for larger and more technically impressive productions. The new facility also includes a musicians' room for orchestras and 25,000 additional SF of shop space for set building, lighting preparation, and other behind-the-scenes activities.

The more intimate 125-seat flexible black box Struthers Studio Theatre will feature a diverse array of programming, from edgier new works to smaller-scale productions. Struthers Hall, a light-filled, open, and airy space, is available for rentals and gatherings such as special events, galas, weddings, and parties. It also provides ample rehearsal space for quality productions and audience engagement programming. The Rooftop Terrace will offer additional meeting space or outdoor mingling opportunities.
