I've been doing same zico1 after seeing underlying share price hint at firming...currently firming further so hopefully we'll move up from here. Wincanton and Clipper have both partially recovered from recent weakness so hopefully we'll see the same here.

I'm accumulating at these prices ... no reason for the fall other than general sell off.

Buy the dips ... if you can.

I've sold out today for a -20% loss.

Best of luck holders.

Last year TU was 23 November. Likely a similar date for this year.

Given H2 is seasonally strong for the company plus demand outstripping supply+inflation I would have anticipated XPD doing well. However the market clearly thinks otherwise.

A fair value of 20p seems significantly low. I can't get anything like that low on any financial metric. Perhaps you can post your calculations for discussion?

gleach23 - thanks for the heads up I agree would think a trading update would be welcomed especially since they took on debt in the last quarter in order to make freight prepayments which may also have made some investors uneasy.

In the Investor Meet Company presentation (well worth a listen), Robert Ross mentioned that September and October were key months in the expected strong H2. Would be good to have some indication of the outcome in the next week or 2.

Given the ongoing recent momentum in the business as confirmed in the Interims only just over a month ago...

"As communicated in the trading update released on 25 June 2021, we believe the Group, which traditionally has earnings weighted to the second half of the year, is well placed to deliver full year adjusted profit before tax in excess of GBP8.5 million."

...I'd imagine they'd feel obliged to update the market to either reassure investors or confirm a material change in expectations for H2 as the share price is currently hinting at.

By the way svend2, I wouldn't take too much notice of the closing price which was distorted by a UT trade. I would expect it to open @ 51-53 in the morning unless there is some news. That said, there was a sizeable buy of 38k just before the close so hopefully that'll help underpin support at this level.

The spread is very large a 25% movement bid/ask price in a penny stock is not uncommon IMO, however, I would agree if the shakeout is not more than a shakeout then it would be nice to learn when we get the next company trading statement/update and/or fresh podcast?

On the flip side of being asset light, they have no option but to take on the chin any short terms cost increases, if they want to continue trading. Can't pass on cost increases if they've won fixed price contracts, until that contract expires.

I think in the main, they have an asset light business model, ie they do not own their own fleet. The vast majority of their freight services are provided by subcontractors, as such I would imagine they are able to pass on any direct cost increases to the clients,

"Utilising its asset-light, scalability and risk adjusted business model,"

Also the interconnectivity between the Affinity business and the Delamode freight business should help them secure hauliers.

"Affinity’s commercial model fits well within the Group as many of the hauliers who are customers of Affinity also supply haulage services to Delamode a key factor that enables the Group to have a good understanding of its customers/suppliers,"

The Affinity division provides fuel cards to hauliers who run 14.000 trucks. If management are smart, in a period of shortage of drivers / hauliers, they should be able to leverage their Affinity relationship to ensure that as an Affinity customer, you prioritise your service to Delamode freight first, thus ensuring a good supply of trucks.

Also as fuel prices increase we would expect to see the Affinity division generating higher profits.....

"As part of this, Affinity benefited from the increase
in the bulk fuel prices which saw the cost per litre
across Europe increase by 8%" -2018 results

Re the shortage of fuel supply, I think currently this only seems to be in the UK, and given they mainly procure the services from European hauliers, I hope they can mitigate this matter.

Must be hard environment for them, lack of drivers and fuel prices increasing and shortages of supply. Would be interesting to see how they navigate them

zico01 - I fully agree 100% and you get paid a nice dividend while waiting for the next takeover and expansion of a growing concern that does not rely on only freight forwarding as it is a diversified and integrated logistic operator with a lot of re-opening potential in the next 1-3 years
