06/5/2018 09:48 | No topvest Wooder's won't be watching, our starvestor will be at Badminton all weekend. Doubtless entertaining Hargreaves Lansdown in his VIP tent. It would be facinating to get Buffet's take on Woodford's funds though!!! | ltcm1
06/5/2018 09:10 | In March this was trading at 20% discount to NAV, so perhaps 65 - 70 is short term Low unless he has another disaster .Firms like Hargreaves Lansdown still pushing income fund.their comments are worth reading- mealy-mouthedPraise defending his investment strategy, while admitting there's no income. So many fund managers have stuffed the general public with his funds that they'd prefer to deny reality than crystallise the loss | wantage
05/5/2018 22:37 | That rise was short lived...more lower lows?.. | diku
05/5/2018 21:13 | Anyone being watching the world's best investors? 5/6 hours with Buffett and Munger at the Berkshire Hathaway AGM and they are still going. What legends! Wonder if Woodford is watching for some inspiration? | topvest
04/5/2018 21:32 | Well I can't be Winnie because I am pompous apparently whereas Tom is a humble and respectful guy, a good egg once you know him. | ltcm1
04/5/2018 21:23 | Oh,thank you, Winnie for that kind sell recommendation. You don’t need any advice from me. Lololol. | solonic
04/5/2018 21:08 | Sell it while it has a 7 in front.I've told u boys this for a while now. | rackers1
04/5/2018 21:05 | Lying yet again, Winnie. You posted complaining about bias from the BBC then within minutes you changed it to the Daily Mail! You and your mates Jonwig and cynical bear are permanently incapable of being honest. I have to ponder what you lot at shareprophets have as an ultimate aim. I can’t work it out but I and, I’m sure, the majority here will conclude it has to be something criminal what with your nefarious tactics and plethora of false names. Otherwise what is the point? | solonic
04/5/2018 20:36 | Can anyone tell me if this is the low please??? Solonic says I must buy low and sell high in order to succeed. If this is the low then I'm buying!!! I'd just like to say I've never regarded the BBC as biased in any shape or form. Also Opirh Gin is bloody good. Hope this clears that one up. | ltcm1
04/5/2018 19:12 | I’ve been watching the Mello presentation by Paul Scott. Interesting that he started by saying he was wiped out in 2009 by the combination of gearing and illiquid positions. Cost him £2m. Has some lesson for WPCT I believe. | topvest
04/5/2018 18:45 | Thanks Jonwig. Agreed. Keeps the Ponzi scheme going I suppose! I couldn’t open your link. HOT has a similar gearing I believe, but it has a liquid portfolio and pays a rising dividend. I hold that investment trust as I like James Henderson. It’s high risk, but nowhere near as high risk as this one which has an off the scale real risk rating. | topvest
04/5/2018 16:21 | @ topvest - the useful link in post #2869 doesn't include what I'd call 'mainstream' ITs, nor does it have any 'illiquid specialists', apart from WPCT. So, of course, constructive replies are replaced by desperate content-free banter. I'm puzzled why he persists in providing a daily NAV when most of the portfolio is a nod-through. Respected ITs such as RCP (RIT Capital Partners), which has a smaller proportion of unquoteds (and has made me a lot of money), publishes a monthly number. A switch would save his shareholders around £2,000 a month. | jonwig
04/5/2018 16:12 | Air Marshall is an investment genius. Well perhaps not. | orinocor
04/5/2018 16:12 | This still looks hopelessly overvalued. | orinocor
04/5/2018 16:02 | LOL. You still can't name a more reckless investment trust on the criteria I have given. I think I win! | topvest
04/5/2018 13:51 | Still no takers then. No investment trust exists with 20% leverage and illiquid, start-up's. But Woodford knows better than everyone else! | topvest
04/5/2018 12:53 | Part 2. While the Rossi fiasco has been the big story in cold fusion over the last few years, IH have walked away and gone quiet after the previous embarrassment. However they have continued to support low key research groups in USA, Japan etc. I think they are supporting G Miley at University of Illinois. IH are unlikely to say anything now unless they find concrete evidence. I see LENR as a very high risk, very high reward investment. Personally I am happy for Woodford to invest a small amount in this. It is his larger investments such as Prothena I am not happy about, they are supposed to be less risky, if not then why invest big? | jimpubes
04/5/2018 12:51 | Genuine answer to Daffy in 2 parts. Industrial Heat is a Tom Darden investment vehicle. It was created to investigate the reality or otherwise of cold fusion (or LENR as it is also known). Darden attracted some support from Woodford. Unfortunately they got involved with Rossi who had seemingly had support for positive results from some Swedish and Italian scientists. Rossi refused to play until he was paid $10 million dollars, which I believe came from Darden not Woodford. He then did a year-long test that turned out to be rubbish. He then had the cheek to sue IH for more money. On the day of the trial he settled with IH. I believe no further money changed hands. Ecatworld.com is a site of Rossi true believers who think IH is part of some evil conspiracy. Www.lenr-forum.com is a more skeptical site. | jimpubes
04/5/2018 11:33 | he cant chucko1 hes only allowed 20 mins per day on a pc as part of his day release conditions. | rackers1
04/5/2018 11:30 | You lot are more biased than the Daily Mail. | ltcm1
04/5/2018 11:10 | Hey see what I mean, winnie? Proof positive. | the air marshall |
