10/4/2018 11:14 | It's quite noticeable just how the frequency and degree of bitterness expressed in recent posts declines when WPCT takes a turn into more positive territory. Thank goodness, for all sort of reasons. And long may it continue. | mazarin
06/4/2018 13:38 | Looks right to me Pediment. Not much point in putting a 250k order on the book if less than 1000 shares have gone through on AT unless you have a reason. Only thing I'd add is that it's easier to sell into a rising market which is where we are now. PI ISA money for the end and start of the tax year also helping the seller. I wouldn't necessarily say it will fall once the order is filled though, although usually it does. Sometimes the seller finishes and the brake which has stopped the share rising is no longer applied. Of course if the seller is opening a large short position you better watch out below, because as soon as he's got enough the support will get pulled and further sell orders will be applied to start the share on a downtrend. | cc2014
06/4/2018 13:22 | Well the large SETS bid orders have managed to push this back to the daily 100ma where it failed and shift whatever large sell orders were being processed to PIs by the RSPs. Huge disparity in SETS to RSP/OTC volume classic dump tactics. If you want to buy 250,00 / 500,000 shares on SETS you move your ICEBERG around, you don't stick a 30x NMS order on because all you do is push the price up as the PIs get excited. So, illusory support and a fall back once this is cleared, propping bids. Will welcome any alternative technical or market mechanics theories | pediment
05/4/2018 21:32 | Some positive press coverage at last for Woody! To be fair he was started from a terrible position in Feb. [Begins:] An unexpected recovery for Woodford Patient Capital Trust has made the struggling investment trust the surprise top performer among the sector specialist funds in March, albeit amid a substantial slump for the wider biotech and pharmaceuticals sector. WPCT was the top performer out of the 13 closed end funds investing in wholly or largely in biotech or healthcare, in terms of both NAV and share price performance, in March, and was a mid-range performer over the first quarter. This contrasts markedly with its poor longer term performance for NAV and share price in absolute terms and in comparison with benchmarks and peers. WPCT achieved a 0.6% rise in NAV and a 6.7% increase in share price in the month, which compared with negative 1-5% changes in NAV for all the other funds and 1.5-6.5% declines in price, for all but one other fund. | daffyjones

05/4/2018 16:56 | Mochyn Woodford manages several funds. He has one brain. He doesn't have a brain for each fund, although I am sure, a moron like you thinks he does. I sold at 114/115, I couldn't GOVE a sh💩t if you don't believe me. | minerve
05/4/2018 16:36 | Woodford has just been buying about 0.5m Global Yachting Group (GYG) at a pound each - the RNS doesn't say which fund - and he now has a big stake. An interesting company (I held some once) which has suffered from recent weakness following a profits warning in November. Annual results should come along soon: a test of his judgment maybe. | jonwig
05/4/2018 15:49 | Mochyn If people make money here then it's fine. I am invested elsewhere. Topps Tiles had a bad day yesterday and so has BTG today. Two of Woodford's holdings. Are there actually any that he holds that haven't had a massive correction in the last 12 months or so? This person managers WPCT. You would have to be a fool to not start questioning his judgements. Don't forget, I sold at 114/115. So a lot of catching up to do before you are back to where I was. LOL Only 12 months behind. ;) | minerve
05/4/2018 08:27 | Strangely quiet here today, surprised that the supposedly impartial 'experts' aren't commenting on over 12% rise of PRTA yesterday. Starting to think that they aren't as impartial or rational as they state? Mind you sun's out, school holidays so maybe off building dens and putting down jumpers for goalposts.... | prewar

04/4/2018 21:27 | Good Citywire Money interview with Neil here: hxxp://citywire.co.u | lewis121
04/4/2018 13:26 | solonic - you need to work on your reading comprehension. Look at the stickied message at the top of the thread: "This thread is also open for discussion on the two open-ended funds managed by Woodford." | daffyjones
04/4/2018 12:49 | Nothing to do with WPCT, though, so why do you bother to post it here? Did you not know that WPCT is NOT an open-ended fund? | solonic
04/4/2018 12:11 | Should be Zeneca, not Seneca obvs. Damn autocorrect. | daffyjones
03/4/2018 20:44 | I don't know if WPCT will be a disaster in the making, it looks a risky short to me. It could do very well. My position is I simply have reservations over Neil's suitability to run a fund like this. Also he has an enormous workload. I do wish all holders well and it would be great if the fund does well. I would encourage people to watch Woodford's interviews on YouTube as he does explain very clearly his modus operandi. He does speak very well about what he does. Bob is right. I'm sure he can supply on demand some posts that will clear the TW debate up for good. | ltcm1
03/4/2018 19:19 | there are some on here that are saying ltcm1 is TW. He isnt | bobmonkeyhouse
03/4/2018 18:38 | Allied Minds at 105 - what is that all about??? This in a bull market too. Can somebody please explain to me what Woodford's level of expertise is in the 'Uni to market' zone. I find it worrying people place such faith in him re WPCT when ALM is doing so poorly plus his other Investec buys did badly too. He has also stressed that WPCT is all "proven concepts" and the risk level is therefore moderate. But the ALM experience suggests the risk may be higher than investors are aware of. In short you are backing a guy with no track record in this field and on the ALM experience WPCT could fall to 30 - 40p level. | ltcm1 |
