What on earth makes you think that the future will be anything different to the past?

* Cash guzzling
* loss-making
* bent balance sheet
* needs a new fund raise every year just to keep the lights on

It's one of those dogs that needs to find new suckers every year!

Been monitoring these for a while and have now taken an investment as future looks promising. Time will tell.

Today's news sounds positive and it was good practice for WBI to apologise for the update arriving just over a week later than promised. There was a good bump up in the price today too and I hope we can get back to a penny soon, as a platform for an even better price.

In the monthly newsletter that I received on 11 December 2023 it said among other things;

"Woodbois have successfully broken into a new, and exciting market in North Africa and has developed new relationships with a number of leading suppliers in central Africa.

Our head of trading recently travelled to China to agree terms with a new FSC-certified plywood manufacturer."

It would be good to hear more about these deals.

At the AGM, we were told a Q4 update was planned to be released by the end of January 2024. We were also promised there would improved communications between the company and shareholders. The résumé of the new CEO states that one of his specialities is communicating with shareholders. As one of those shareholders, I am disappointed that no Q4 update has been released, and furthermore that there has been no communication informing shareholders of the reason for the delay and when the Q4 report can now be expected. I do not consider this to be a good start by the new team. However, I hope for improvement.

First time I have read - getting rid of a CEO - IS the restructuring.
The rest of that RNS was garbage.
But I guess they had nothing else to say .

Improve "cohesiveness" in the leadership by getting rid of the CEO huh. Just never let the fact that having those 2 position combined is sen as a bad idea by literally everyone get in the way.

The RNS looks upbeat and determined.

I had to work up to midday and so I missed the presentation. It does not seem to be on the website yet. Could anyone offer the main points of the presentation if there was anything good to know beyond the RNS - thank you.

A possible reason for a later than usual AGM is to seek to sell as much timber as possible in Q4 before the meeting. Presumably the AGM will be before Christmas. I am going to take a punt on 18 December as the 2023 AGM date.

Shipping by container has come down in price over the year. The price of timber has fluctuated up and down and is now about the same as it was at the beginning of the year.

Time will tell if I am right about the AGM date and if Graeme Thomson was right when he said:

"I am optimistic that Q4 onwards will see a marked upturn in activity as we solidify new relationships, finalise and vigorously execute on our strategy."

and

"I am aware that 2023 has been a tough one for all those involved with our Company. We have encountered events that could not have been foreseen, but we emerge from these challenging times with our balance-sheet considerably stronger, strategic focus and drive embedded in our ethos, a streamlined and energetic executive team, new strong shareholders and partners with whom to deliver on the outstanding promise which this business and our sectors hold."

To the extent that Woodbois is "leaky" it leaks cash like the Niagara Falls "leaks" water. It can't be that far away from needing yet another fund raise!
