Its not in the pubs around me in Manchester. I agree wetherspoons are not the culprits of this but they get lumped all together .A lot of older people with health problems will be fearful again also .

How'd you police that then ?Wouldn't it better if you stop private industries where households can mix

Pubs and bars are not the cause of current flare ups. Households mixing in each other's houses and not social distancing is the cause of the flare up.If a trade off is needed it will be the banning of households mixing in private dwellings. The current situation in Manchester and West Yorkshire indicates bars, pubs and restaurants can remain open but households must not mix in different houses. This will be the policy trade off for schools reopening.

Not all spoons are doing great .My local one in the morning was very busy now quiet .Sorry guys but having pubs open and ice skating rinks closed makes no sense and as for masks everywhere other than pubs thats another nonsense .

ron, I would head straight down to your local 'Spoons' 'mate' and get a few in before they close.

Tim, unfortunately UK infection rates are picking up again and we are only at the start of August, I expected this around early to mid September, but we are here already. Would be surprised if they close pubs in August.

It's was a throw away remark on The Today programme this morning, the 'expert' reacted to a question off the cuff he could just as early said food takeaways should be closed as opposed to pubs. This is not policy and very unlikely to happen.

Hundreds of thousands of tenants in rent arrears because of lockdown face being made homeless when eviction ban ends in three weeks' time

Eviction ban introduced at beginning of lockdown is due to end on August 23

ronwilkes321, how do you make that out? Our local 'Spoons' was heaving last night. It took twenty minutes to get a table. Unless there is another complete lock down I don't see your 'Business will have no revenue in a month'. As to your £5.00 share price prediction - who knows until we see some numbers post reopening. As an aside Fullers were quite positive on trade since reopening.
