Still not sure how this track and trace thing works in pubs does it mean if anyone was in on the same day as someone who later came down with the virus has to self isolate for 14 days, that could mean hundreds of people.

My bet is that the Sunday papers will be full of pictures of too full bars and bar queues. We'll soon know which way the cookie crumbles.

That is guaranteed

They have probably already written most of the story already!

The more they drink the closer they will become unless a limit on spirits and pints

They will have street and pub parties galore

No one will go to any pub while the NHS test and trace police could pounce on at ANY time in the succeeding month....and then forcibly isolate you...at home now ...... elsewhere later.

The pubs are doomed until the mad Ferguson/Whitty restrictions are lifted, but they wont be............ 18 months for live music ,and other forms or entertainment, is the word out in the industry.

And Boris is worse than useless.

I am quite sure the fabulously rich will be having house parties from now on like there is no tomorrow.

Animal Farm anyone?

Tim, complete guess here, but under £8.70 type of area would not be a surprise imv.

Indeed konradpuss.

Just reading some of the "rules" that some of the pubs near us will be implementing and all the things they will not be doing including entertainment, hardly sounds inviting to be honest but it could play into wetherspoons hands but agree its all about the numbers and higher overheads and limiting numbers will certainly be a challenge.

I for one will be going nowhere near a pub this weekend and will probably just visit at quiet times to start with but if the rules take the fun out of visiting a pub you might as well drink with friends/family at home or in the garden!

Tim3, you are right. A little perspective is needed.

I do however think the new 'norm' will be costly for 'Spoons' as well as for all others. Plus three months of trading just vanished.

We must hope their value offer will shine in the coming recession/depression.

I was down the town this afternoon. Had a look in the spoons. Looked really impressive inside. I reckon if spoons cant make it there wont be many that do.

Lot of uncertainty atm. Lots of us want to go to the Spoons but will enough of us be able to get in to make the turnover Tim needs...Good luck Tim we will do what we can to get the Spoons through it all.
