Yes i like GRG a well run company .I think they will bounce back longterm .Another that will benefit as smaller food outlets close imo .

I hold a small amount of GRG, which like JDW has produced longer term stellar returns. The same applies to Greggs- reduced customer capacity atm and the threat of autumn/winter ahead. Also GRG never got particularly cheap, even at the March plunge lows. Not much more I can add atm. Luck to those holding.

Spoons will do ok, but only ok, as long as they are allowed to stay open. The problem is that the capacity of their pubs has been drastically reduced, so profits will suffer even if they stay open. But with cases starting to rise again in much of Europe, that is by no means certain. Many smaller pubs have remained closed because it's not worth opening. In the long run, Spoons may be the beneficiaries of a hollowed out pub sector.

If you want to consider a potentially more optimistic longer term outlook,
then so much capacity is being stripped out, JDW may be a prime beneficiary?.

Capacity is being removed from both the casual dining and pubs market atm, casual dining
in particular looks a car crash.

March '20 low was a bit under £5, it bounced right up to £12.

In January 2019 the share price was not much over £11 a share, before then embarking on
a mini parabolic run (a little similar to GRG).

You could make a case the late May bounce to £12 was too much too soon
when JDW was selling near £11 just 18 months ago - pre COVID, pre recession and the
unemploymen hit to follow. Made this point back in June.

awful looking downtrending chart for this stock and most brewers and hotels and JDW did not even bounce when US markets rose earlier but now sliding again . Looks ominous but money to be made shorting or hedging with a CFD if holding stock .

The shops are no different .I observed out of 10 people going to the local minimarket 9 had no mask .These rules are a waste of time they only apply in certain areas not Manchester.

I went to Glossop yesterday the first time I had been out in the pubs .I didn't get to the spoons but the other 5 pubs I visited only one had any distancing or system .No screens at the bar the staff had no masks. Only one asked for details .The pubs will spread the virus im sure in the autumn winter .I have woken up thinking if someone in the bars had the virus there's a good chance I've caught it .

Mentioned under £8.70 a couple of weeks ago and we are there now.

Lots of the economically sensitive stocks taking a hit.
Can't call the price from here, anyone's guess.

Just arrived in my local spoons all outside tables in use with 66 patrons and a few using the smoking shed. Inside 12 customers in an orderly queue at the bar with all 4 tills in operation, approximately 100 inside. Ordered my drink on app 16:24 and its arrived at 16:36, it's as busy as pre-lock down.

Obvs hope I'm wrong about infection numbers rapidly rising in to autumn/winter.

Hold a small amount of Fullers(FSTA) which yesterday sliced right through it's March 2020 low, hoped that would hold but it melted like butter out in the summer sun.

Yes it's worse than the flu it was just an observation .Its not normally a thing people look at .This killed quite a lot of fairly young and healthy people as well as the longterm damage .

Unfortunately not quite the full picture. COVID causes issues because of
the numbers dying And the numbers needing hospital treatment (that later recover).
That could be a visit to A&E, without being admitted to hospital, right through
to intubation in ICU.

Johnson to announce new anti-obesity measures amid fears of coronavirus second wave
By Liz Bates

The official number of UK deaths has risen by 123 bringing the total to 45,677.

As part of efforts to protect against a second wave of the disease, Boris Johnson is set to announce a new strategy to tackle obesity – declaring that losing weight is “one of the ways you can reduce your own risk from coronavirus”. Measures are expected to include a ban on junk food advertising on television before 21:00 – and they mark a significant change of tack from Mr Johnson.

Our political correspondent Liz Bates reports.
