My observations on extra costs were extra cleaning hours, extra staff on the doors and some money spent on Perspex dividers. The price increase should cover some of that.I certainly do not get the impression they are massively more expensive to run and the fact so many people were using the app probably saves them them money processing transactions etc.

No way am I eating out if I have to give my contact details to the restaurant. I am not going to put myself at risk of two weeks house arrest if someone in there has covid at the time when I go in. Unless all the distancing, and rules stop, I will be having meals at home.

Tim3, do you not think their cost base has go dramatically up due to the anti-virus measures they have put in place?

I have yet to pay a visit to my local 'Spoons' to form my own opinion.

Been at Scarborough this week on holiday more than half the pubs are still shut. The one year are open are on reduced hours most closed by 10 spoons is full with no free tables on 2 floors very slick operation only real difference is no drinking at the bar and you wait to be seated and the place is spotlessly clean.Impressive.

Ok thanks, I looked at a pharma company from Israel called teva, They're listed on nyse TEVA, the debt puts me off but there could be some upside, need to research more.

Cheers. One of my overseas exposures is Gerresheimer AG GXI. Invested at €72 in April closed this evening at €90. German pharma so in the correct sector and I was keen to hedge sterling as I feel it will weaken with no deal Brexit. Available on the Dax and one other market which I can't remember, already had a decent div.

Good luck I only invest in tech at the moment so I don't invest in UK much because there is no tech to invest in. So look to short as a hedge.

I see this as benefiting from today's measures. I had a few pints in my local spoons last night and while the weather was terrible it had constant trade. Move to August with improved weather and half price food, who's going to cook when they can get a pizza for £3.50 or full cooked breakfast with unlimited hot drinks for £2.Balanced portfolio is key so I have click and brick, with brick added today. Good hunting.

Shopping centres and pubs is now a clock and dagger experience, I don't think I will go back to either for a very long time, it's dead, half of pubs and shops closed and it will probably stay that way for a year or two

EIThe virus has accelerated the move online by years. It was already on the decline but with the risks with the virus, queues, lack of changing rooms and many of the other reasons people go to a physical store I think a lot of customers will never return.A lot of people have commented what a dire experience it is now.I think big companies with huge estates like Dixons Carphone will really struggle unless they address the size of their estate urgently.I also heard that John Lewis is considering reducing the size of their estate currently.Sorry to be off thread

Tim, went to my local Marks in Brooklands last night, like something out
of the Marie Celeste upstairs in the clothing dept. Was going to buy a jumper
but you can't try anything on, not sure on sizing so just left it.

Some pubs open on the weekend have been closed due to customers testing positive for COVID since the weekend. Very messy situation.

Agree EI.

It was a screaming buy at £5 said so at the time but was to busy watching my portfolio go down the toilet to act!

Currently to quote broker lingo its probably a hold. I think you may have to be patient though and if we get another shut down which I think is doubtful then could be in real trouble.

The stock market is very short sited it looks at the near future months down the line not years ahead but that provides opportunity especially when you add panic into the equation like we had in March. In 40 years of investing have never known a situation like that not to be an excellent opportunity to buy quality its like you are getting shares on special offer where as buying now you are paying full price.

Someone mentioned should they sell?, it depends if you are attempting to
lock in a quick profit or happy to hold longer term, regardless of volatility.
Those brave enough to buy near the March plunge lows are sitting on a lovely % gain.
