I remember this 'Betaville' doing a takeover rumours story with RS Group and Watches of Switzerland. The shareprices popped and fell back again. Nothing will happen with VOD.

Doesn’t seem to be much in the press at the weekend so probably just an unsubstantiated rumour. Would love it to have substance but probably just wishful thinking. Good thing we have some shareholders with good stakes bought at higher prices to block a low ball offer (provided they aren’t doing the offering) if any.

We have had this kind of interest since two pounds and it always still keep diving.Stuck here from around 1.70 ish and lost big money on paper.Hope it does not get taken over at a quid.Worst share ever for me.Behaves like an AIM share.

The rumour only broke with half an hour left so for the volume to be up 3x at 180M is significant.
The reasons could be multiple, Italian sale, M&A, Etisalat stake rise etc.

Vodafone shares gain on renewed takeover speculation

Betaville signals renewed takeover interest in Vodafone Group.

Identity of the potential acquirer remains to be known.

Vodafone stock has lost about 35% in the trailing 12 months.

Vodafone Group plc (LON: VOD) is gaining at writing following news of renewed takeover interest.

Here’s what we know so far

A potential acquirer may be working with Goldman Sachs on such a deal. But a different source that talked to Betaville on condition of anonymity said it’s Jefferies who has been hired instead.

The waves provide two targets. 100p, which you should hit quite quickly, and 250p, which if there’s a bid coming in you’ll never see.

They know the way markets move, which is why the bids come in now at the low. 100p bids might be successful now, but in two years a 300p bid would likely be required.

Bid or no bid, we are going up.

As far as I can see nothing doing apart from shorts closing out. Hope I'm wrong.
