I think they more or less pleased everyone with that statement. Those who think the Dividend should be cut, They can pay back some debt, Those who want the Dividend will get this years intact so worth 8p and a Share buyback at lows makes sense and heighten eps.

FY24 total ordinary dividend expected to be maintained at 9.0c per share and ordinary dividend to be rebased to 4.5c per share from FY25 onwards;

Steady as she goes- good RNS today with solid foundation to go above 100p leading to results. I am lucky enough to have bought these around 69p to 70p levels so even a reduced dividend for the next financial year gives me 5%+ dividend - of course not forgetting the growth from the current levels. So it should be a win-win unless there is negative news at the expense of mis-management!

FY25 starts next month, so the divi cut is immediate unless I've misunderstood FY's.9c for FY24 (which ends 31/03/2024)4.5c for FY25 (ends 31/03/2025)

Contradictory statements return 4bn to shareholders but after the deal, Vodafone plans to rebase its dividend to 4.5 cents a share from 2025 onwards against nine cents for 2024.

Divi much more realistic and acceptable to the market-still c %5 and decent. More important mgmt seem to be intent on getting to grip with the company and thus the rise.

B2B side is their growth focus

giving market next few years sight of yield/SBBs is a good idea, market reaction also suggests good IR.

Base of 4.5c is a minimum they hope to grow...

DYOR, encouraging news IMO and should bring a floor to a drifting share price.

The Dividend should have been cut this year so I suppose you can cut the full dividend as a 'Special'.
They are focusing on doing what they set out to do but it's still hard to see where any growth is atm.
Buybacks at the lows are very much a good thing, nearly every Company with spare cash is doing it such is the low valuations of UK stocks.

Yes hopefully.Was tempted to average down but i have lost all faith in this share.My previous average downs all seem distant.Might just wait incase it goes 50s or 40s.

A dividend investor requires bullet-proof payments; it might form part of the core household income. VOD have just chopped the dividend in *half*. Why would a dividend investor touch it for years to come, until it's re-established itself as a reliable and growing payer off a solid balance sheet.

My opinion of her has done a 180. I'm really impressed with this new strategy. The move to restructure the company in to 5 divisions is also a positive. This is a really good day for Vodafone. I am sure much of this leaked on Wednesday and forced them to issue this unannounced on a Friday morning (usually a slow day for RNSs)
