Ok so it's clear that justforthemany has an agenda.

The share price is going up. Do not be shaken by these mind games.

Clearly the share price will open up - but by how much, that is the question..

Great news dividend for 2024 maintained and going foreward in 2025 it’s rebased to 4.5c. At today’s share price it’s still good. With the buybacks for longer term this big tanker should begin to turn around.

Management have at last shown some strong leadership. the dividend needed to be cut. I'm frankly surprised she didn't do it last May at the 23 final results. This now gives the company a clear path to debt reduction and sustainable growth.

All in favour of debt reduction here, buybacks not so much, cutting the dividend in half can also go towards further deleveraging..

The resulting dividend will be down to 4/5% for many holders as average holding prices will be well north of 66 pence and nearer 100 pence..

But, overall, it will strengthen the company over time, and we still have 9 cents to come from 2024..

We all know why the share price has been trashed this week.
Leaks and manipulation.
Dividend halved.

This is great news. The share price is so low they are buying back almost 20% of the company at yesterday's close price. How can that not be anything but a great deal? So the dividend is cut, well yes but was it really sustainable? For recent investors like myself we're still getting c.6%. And the final 24 dividend will still be 4.5c (one hopes). I am genuinely confident that now finally a corner has been turned here.

Instead of reducing debt pile VODA wants to return 4 billion euros after Italian deal.

In here for the dividend, but, rebasing due to debt levels seems sensible. How will the market react is the question, will still yield nearly 6% at current share price of 66p, reduce debt and buyback shares at current low price. It's been a poor week for my portfolio and if these get hammered today likely to be my worst week of the year as VOD are a significant holding.

yup, halved divi for 2025, guess was inevitable given company mismanagement, - but the divi was the main reason i held this crock of the proverbial..., lots of promises of jam tomorrow - pretty poor management of the company all round to leave it in this state.
More share buybacks...why? Why not grasp the nettle and use the proceeds to slash debt and the interest mountain - share buybacks are little more than a sticking plaster and don't in my view generally result in an increased share price, all money for the boys in the city!
Will be ken to see which way the share price goes on opening, I suspect south quickly. But i guess the cheaper the share price the more they can buyback with the allocated funds....urgh!
