25/1/2021 15:31 | i'm content to ride this volatility. | cordwainer
25/1/2021 15:13 | veil UP A penny today after hitting 617 earlier - I picked the wrong trust ! ( smile ) | arja
25/1/2021 15:12 | VEIL up A PE | arja
25/1/2021 15:11 | the only benefits are we have "sovereignty" ( nebulous concept) and the blue passport back . ( smile ) . Oh, forgot about Scottish independence and a united Ireland which is now much more likely and a good and fair thing . If I was Scottish I would hate to be governed by the nasty party and under colonial rule . NI and Scotland did not vote for the crazy brexit . back on topic, surprised that VOF hit again today as NAV will only be down marginally when today's NAV is reported tomorrow - most disappointing ! | arja
22/1/2021 20:53 | Having voted for the Brexit that was promised I can honestly say the deal we have now is far worse than the one we already had. I've stopped exporting to EU, DHL had to temporarily stop shipping to Northern Ireland. The part of the deal regarding NI is a mess, it's almost like the IRA got what they wanted. | exotic
22/1/2021 16:41 | better than NO DEAL . No tariffs was good but it is FAR from frictionless trade as the cheerleaders for brexit promised ! Every day we read about the problems and I assume you hear that too even as a brexiteer ( smile ) . So almost all NOT to LIKE . VOF disappointing today as vietnam indices put on about .5 % ! | arja
22/1/2021 16:37 | my god, you must be joking as only good thing was that it was be | arja
22/1/2021 07:23 | Really, I thought the Brexit deal was great and as good as could have possibly been hoped for. What's not to like. Fisheries perhaps but that's peanuts in UK terms. | amt
21/1/2021 12:40 | I suspect sterling is more likely to strengthen now Brexit is down by the way. | amt
21/1/2021 09:37 | yes , wonder what the NAV is after vietnam market recovered about 2.5% . will not know today's figure until tomorrow of course but maybe about 480p . strong pound against $US is not helping but that can change quickly and after brexit "done" might make sterling weaker in next few months . | arja
21/1/2021 08:40 | Off to a good start today at least | exotic
20/1/2021 15:03 | why this trust is not as yet | arja
20/1/2021 15:02 | VEIT recovering well today and not sure | arja
20/1/2021 08:29 | Vietnam indices only down a touch today after falling further and recovering . hoping correctio is over and just closed my short on spreadbet ! | arja
20/1/2021 07:43 | 4.5% fall in nav so 2.5% fall shows the price held up well. | amt
19/1/2021 15:31 | Thanks for that information, h.e. We've had a bloody good run on these and VEIL recently. A sudden drop was inevitable. I don't get the sense that it is permanent. (Heh, I have said that before and been wrong: I'm not selling now, though.) | johnwig
19/1/2021 14:51 | The strong rise in the VN market has been getting a fair bit of press coverage here reporting people scrambling to buy so no surprise that there was a fall today as it failed to push decisively past 2018 high and inexperienced investors started to panic at the drop. Some interruption to the HCM trading system didn't help (probably due to volume). hxxps://e.vnexpress. | hydrogen economy
19/1/2021 12:58 | chart showed a long steady uptrend until today;'s correction . Might be a bit more profit taking before the rise resumes . Taking out a modest short with a CFD or spreadbet is not a bad move as a kind of hedge until we see uptrend resume . | arja
19/1/2021 12:55 | good point and the | arja
19/1/2021 10:10 | I think Vietnamese are trading more and more so perhaps there will be more fluctuations than earlier. Shares still relatively cheap with all the fundamentals | amt
19/1/2021 09:36 | you mean the scale of the crackdown compared to China which is true . One tends to forget that Vietnam is an autocratic distatorship and why it was sad that USA lost that war . So let's hope it was just a one day correction and no follow through | arja
19/1/2021 09:34 | I suppose you me | arja
19/1/2021 08:25 | It pales into insignificance compared to China so not much to worry about | amt
19/1/2021 08:23 | possibly has something to do with this but western countries are unlikely not to trade with Vietnam ! Vietnam steps up 'chilling' crackdown on dissent ahead of key Communist Party congress 2021-01-19 03:03:23 170 political prisoners in Vietnam, most since 1996 - Amnesty Crackdown has intensified; longer, harsher jail terms - data Vietnamese military runs anti-dissident cyber unit Force 47 'Chilling effect' - U.N. human rights office Comes amid growing muscle for Vietnam in global trade By James Pearson | arja |
