the only benefits are we have "sovereignty" ( nebulous concept) and the blue passport back . ( smile ) . Oh, forgot about Scottish independence and a united Ireland which is now much more likely and a good and fair thing . If I was Scottish I would hate to be governed by the nasty party and under colonial rule . NI and Scotland did not vote for the crazy brexit .
back on topic, surprised that VOF hit again today as NAV will only be down marginally when today's NAV is reported tomorrow - most disappointing !

Having voted for the Brexit that was promised I can honestly say the deal we have now is far worse than the one we already had. I've stopped exporting to EU, DHL had to temporarily stop shipping to Northern Ireland. The part of the deal regarding NI is a mess, it's almost like the IRA got what they wanted.

better than NO DEAL . No tariffs was good but it is FAR from frictionless trade as
the cheerleaders for brexit promised ! Every day we read about the problems and I assume you hear that too even as a brexiteer ( smile ) . So almost all NOT to LIKE .
VOF disappointing today as vietnam indices put on about .5 % !

Really, I thought the Brexit deal was great and as good as could have possibly been hoped for. What's not to like.
Fisheries perhaps but that's peanuts in UK terms.

yes , wonder what the NAV is after vietnam market recovered about 2.5% . will not know today's figure until tomorrow of course but maybe about 480p . strong pound against $US is not helping but that can change quickly and after brexit "done" might make sterling weaker in next few months .

4.5% fall in nav so 2.5% fall shows the price held up well.

Thanks for that information, h.e. We've had a bloody good run on these and VEIL recently. A sudden drop was inevitable. I don't get the sense that it is permanent. (Heh, I have said that before and been wrong: I'm not selling now, though.)

The strong rise in the VN market has been getting a fair bit of press coverage here reporting people scrambling to buy so no surprise that there was a fall today as it failed to push decisively past 2018 high and inexperienced investors started to panic at the drop. Some interruption to the HCM trading system didn't help (probably due to volume).

chart showed a long steady uptrend until today;'s correction . Might be a bit more profit taking before the rise resumes . Taking out a modest short with a CFD or spreadbet is not a bad move as a kind of hedge until we see uptrend resume .

I think Vietnamese are trading more and more so perhaps there will be more fluctuations than earlier.

you mean the scale of the crackdown compared to China which is true . One tends to forget that Vietnam is an autocratic distatorship and why it was sad that USA lost that war . So let's hope it was just a one day correction and no follow through
