06/11/2019 04:51 | The protection of trademarks in China: key points 04 · 11 · 19 - IP News - Inés Cantero The fourth amendment to the Chinese Trademark Law entered into force this 1st November. The revisions intend to create an environment with better legal certainty and to avoid unfair competition. This time, the focus of the corrections is on bad faith trademark applications and imposing harsher penalties on trademark infringers. But what are the particularities of the Chinese trademark registration system? In this article we try to collect its key points. Foreign Companies and trademark protection in China The internationalization of China’s market economy during the last decade has made it one of the most interesting countries to invest. The business growth and economic development that this country has experienced in the last years make China an attractive market to foreign marketers. Chinese public authorities are aware of the role and importance that Intellectual Property plays in the country’s socioeconomic development and they have undertaken many measures to improve IP protection in their country. The revisions that have taken effect on 1 November 2019 are a proof of that. | jointer13

05/11/2019 22:51 | Good evening, schmally, Timothy, you got me laughing again chaps. No, that is not at all what I was suggesting, that's outrageous. I have no doubt that the photo and the message attached to it was real. I merely suggested that the timing was very fortunate for the share price and that only time would tell if it was important enough to have an RNS attached. The share price has gained in a similar manner and subsequently fallen on more than a few occasions on account of overexcited misinterpretation of tweets, rumour and similar photos, as well you know. Ramp all you want but please try and keep a lid on your paranoia and at least attempt to be honest, open and objective.. Good luck tomorrow all. | billwave

05/11/2019 22:34 | Don't know where I read about 1st December Chinese legislation to allow foreign investment with funds return to country of origin and, more importantly, respect, in (Chinese)law, for IP. Any signing of BIGT as a virtual partner would therefore be irresponsible before this is state law, as I am sure this legislation would not be retrospective. Thus, the signing after 1st Dec would fall within the 'red lines' drawn by VRS, and I am sure by UK DTI. And therefore, I do not expect ahy RNS regarding BIGT until all this is sown up (i.e.) December. | empoggio
05/11/2019 21:00 | Defo an rns tomorrow then;) | 1teepee
05/11/2019 20:56 | I wonder if some part of the huge amount of detail attached to the opening of that incubation hub has perhaps confounded some of the detail in the proposed BIGT/VRS deal, and requires some adjustments to accommodate. (Merely thinking aloud - got no info to support that). If so, I don't imagine it being a problem, but might add another day or two to whatever was planned? | grabster
05/11/2019 20:33 | Obviously sounds like what happened wasn't planned. Almost like they got carpet bagged again by the Chinese. | luckykids
