Hadn't really heard much about Baillie Gifford but as it's been mentioned here today I thought I'd take a look... They seem to be a sensible bunch...

"Actual investors think in decades. Not quarters.

Perhaps a good start would be to explain what we are not. We are not passive investors who think that current share prices capture the future prospects of companies. We don’t believe that investment decisions can be made on numbers alone, even by super computers and complex algorithms."

In the unlikely event that they are in Edinburgh to talk to institutional investors I would hope and indeed expect it to be with Baillie Gifford, in my experience the most intelligent and consistent fund managers in U.K. I have used them for many years professionally and briefed them on VRS in 2017. I’m aware they have been in touch with the company in the past.

Is your day over rainbow? You must be trapped in a prism. The comic whose wit brings a wry smile against a backdrop of impending success.

Good points Alchemy. I think the point is though that those leading industries will have to move forward and adopt the technical advances like graphene or risk being left behind.

In other words there will be some with an IQ below ,say, 130 whose spending power will drive your share price up to £5 soon enough!

Thinking you're thumping a drum there. And I might play in tune but!But I suspect the change will come with flexibility from just a few. For example I could be unaware of graphene but if all motor cars are lighter and powered by zap n go type technology I buy it because it's on offer . I don't need to know p1 v1 t1 = p2 v2 t2 to travel on a train pulled by Watt/Stephenson.So the message that all have to adapt is a tad overblown. The consumer the citizen does adapt but indirectly. The adopters have to be r and d , technical departments and purchasers at places like, Airbus, TfL, Chinese Consumer product suppliers , etc . I think this "Thickos wake up " exhortation should not worry us.

"We are at the threshold of a radical systemic change that requires human beings to adapt continuously. As a result, we may witness an increasing degree of polarization in the world, marked by those who embrace change versus those who resist it.”

Add to that those who unfortunately aren't intelligent enough to adapt. A rather large section of the population notwithstanding the massively inflated exam grades and university degrees.

To be fair PShevlin, it is marginally better than reams of posts about Neill having a shave.

Re. the RNS on the 15th April announcing the possible BIGT stake, the company stated "institutional investors will be given the opportunity to participate on the same terms".
Maybe the BIGT stakeholding and price has now been agreed and Neill is in Edinburgh to offer the same to the fund managers there.
