Looks like another red day on the cards! It's starting to remind me of a status quo song - down, down deeper and down! I much prefer Jackie Wilson's Higher and Higher.

When considering The VRS BOD's strategy, it's worth looking at this interview with Terrance Barkan again, looks like they are ticking the boxes:

"What is in store for graphene commercialization? What trends can you see on the horizon?
I think when we look forward, the market is going to end up being divided between different types of companies. Those which are purely suppliers of graphene material and that take a high volume, lower price approach; versus the companies that take more of a value-added and a vertical integration approach, to capture not just the value of producing graphene material itself but also the value added by enhancing other materials' performance characteristics.

Ultimately, we expect that there are going to be a very small number of the very high volume, lower price suppliers in the market, several, maybe three, and that the value-added vertical integration approach is really going to support a much larger number of companies, specifically because there are these 40-plus vertical markets that graphene can be applied against.

We also think that if this approach is done right, the value-added integrated approach is going to yield higher results. When I talk about value-added integrated approach, what I'm talking about is a graphene producer that not only produces graphene, but they put it into an intermediary product or a master batch, adding value to that, and that's the product they sell.

As the market matures, we expect many of the companies that exist today are either going to get acquired, or they will fall by the wayside because they're not able to scale or they're not able to develop their customer base enough to be sustainable. We also expect that there are going to be a lot of new companies coming in because graphene is such an exciting field and the barriers to entry continue to fall.

It's going to be very exciting to see what happens. We are watching the birth of a new industry as graphene matures and becomes more commercially viable."

Totally agree, and it's given me the chance to have accumulated quite a few (more than I would have had) during the 'lull'. All good.

Zagrosfold & rogerbridge

Spot on.

It would have been tempting to have (i) supplied loads of foc samples, thus draining the company's resources; (ii) shared or divulged the IP ; (iii) offered exclusivity; (iv) sold out early and wholly to the Chinese or another party.

Neill did none of these things. He has plenty of skin in the game and can see the bigger picture. Rather than prostituting the company and falling to the curse of the first syndrome, he has decided to keep the IP and build on solid foundations.

I am happy to watch this company build and become massive over time.

"The arch must be well into its mandatory testing period and textiles can not be far away."

Signalling failure closed the Northern Line this morning. It seems that those arches and the services they carry are definitely needed

The share price at the moment seems a bargain to me.Zagrosfold has highlighted some of the reasons. Neill has said many times that we are not interested in golf balls etc, but proper engineering and technical solutions.
We are building a monster of a company and that takes time.
The arch must be well into its mandatory testing period and textiles can not be far away.
I am pleased that NeI'll did not sell out early and run off with a bag of cash like so many CEO''s tend to do there's days.
The Chinese government via BIGT want a stake but Neill is quite right to play hardball. No deal is better than a bad deal-Whoops!

Although its frustrating I am holding and contemplating another top up when I can decide what to sell.
I do feel that anyone holding will be well rewarded and those selling will loose out.

O/TGreat news for me if Hong Kong settles down. My youngest son went to Hong Kong uni for a year last week. Says the lectures are a bit quiet as students are out protesting. Worrying as a parent but the reality to him doesn't seem that bad. However he has discovered "Mr Wongs" who offer all you can eat and as much beer as you want for the evening for £8. So he's happyCraigy

I do not understand the logic of selling off up to 15% based on current prices when Aecom news could come sooner than China news.

Plus, once China has over 10% nobody else will ever bid because they can not go unconditional.

Having 15% means China can share in all the profits made in free markets but will be able to restrict how much profit we can make in China and more importantly will control how much cash can be remitted to UK.

they have been taking there time and doing it the right way, not some quick fix.

they could have had the deal ages ago...but they are going for the best deal.

and you know what...we as shareholders will benefit hugely.

the right way !

I also think like kemor...the right news and we will take off in seconds.

I could never see NR selling VRS “off cheap”.
I have too much faith in him as a CEO
And a person who had taken the time to answer some of my stupid questions at times.

Don’t forget that if the right RNS arrives the share price could double in seconds!!!

I don't need the money now but I also don't want us to be sold off cheap. Happened too often in the past and did reduce gains.

But if you need the money now, of course, you will shout, cry and whinge that the share-price is too low. You might have bills to pay or there are other hot shares to buy. Its only natural I suppose. China buying in to low, yes maybe, but look at their market! Me? I'm just being patient.

"We are confident ... ... significant future revenues will be
achieved."

Note "will be"

For a conservative guy, that use of the word "will" (rather than 'could' or 'should') is significant, imo.

zagrosfold..agreed on that.. chris doesn't go shouting from the rooftops,he's quite conservative as a rule.
so yes it speaks volumes.

significant

"We are confident, that whilst revenues
of any material amount have yet to be
achieved, with the investment that we
have made, the accreditations awarded
and progress of our collaborations this
year, significant future revenues will be
achieved."

More generally, the markets seem to be happy today. One factor is probably the signals from Hong Kong which are suggesting that the HK govt will now give the assurances that the protestors wish for. Of course, In our case, that's also good news.

Re: China , their focus is on quality and building a worldwide reputation for that as did Japan. They don't need the products they need the graphene and then will sell the products that people and companies didn't know existed .... that is how they roll, its a culture thing. 🌞

Also Chris Leigh's recent quote about seeing substantial future revenue implies to me that the wait is nearly over. He sounds like a cautious man and wouldn't say things like this without good reason.
