"like all employees, there is a strict code over social media"

Not all employees. And not all that strict. Some senior figures routinely chip in with hints and teases on Twitter. Brian's predecessor certainly did!

Thank you for that snippet dgd - much appreciated.

Hmmm the strict code - saw this on twitter relating to something else but still applies here -

"Hell hath no fury like a vested interest masquerading as a moral principle"

"many ?????????? don’t have principles but have interests...and have principles when its in their interests..

Not difficult to fill in the gap (?)in whatever way you wish regarding the tactics of brokers and shorters and ???

I was curious as to why we are not hearing much about the US operations but was reassured by Neill that "Brian is still with us and full time, he is extremely busy but like all employees, there is a strict code over social media and one that is getting harder with all the regulation. He is just getting on with the multitude of things that we have started".

Super - you are reading dark and evil intentions where there are none!
Through organic growth VRS now makes up 80 % of my portfolio so if BIGT dropped tomorrow I would be kicking my heels as high as your good self .
There was no intention to twist anything - I listened to the poddie on a dodgy internet connection in Cancun where we are right now and do seem to recall him mentioning that it was difficult dealing with various government agencies- that was what I was referring to so apologies for any confusion caused
My point all along has been that whilst China has great potential I wonder if strategically they should be devoting more of their manpower to USA and UK
Anyway I am well into my 4 th year here and digging in for the long run
Have already mentally been preparing my resignation letter for when the share price hits 300!

It is not possible to overstate the impact that the deal with BIGT will have for VRS and its LTHs given that our product range will be manufactured throughout China under licence to underpin the US $28tn (yes that's trillion - 28 thousand billion dollars) expenditure for the construction of the infrastructure planned for the new China.

The extract below from The Oxford Saïd Review refers.

Then consider that with AECOM following suit on global construction projects not least of which is the construction/printing of NAOM (US$500Bn).

Then add in the Energy market,Electronics,Computing,Transportation ground and air etc etc etc and the numbers demand that we invent new superlatives to describe the scale of the benefit as "staggering" and "mind-blowing" simply scratch the surface.
As always GLALTH & DYOR

New ChinroducSnaking for nearly 19 miles across the Pearl River estuary, the Hong Kong–Zhuhai211;Macau Bridge exemplifies China’s appetite for infrastructure built on a monumental scale. The crossing – a six-lane motorway – includes viaducts, bridges and a pair of artificial islands, as well as four miles of sea tunnels that dive beneath the estuary’s busy shipping lanes.

The final bill for this yet-to-be opened megastructure is expected to reach US$19bn. But it’s just the tip of China’s infrastructure iceberg. China spends more on economic infrastructure annually than North America and Western Europe combined. And with infrastructure spending of US$28tn predicted by 2040, there’s little sign of China’s boom running out of steam.

Aha Rhe

I'm starting to get it now.

You have a general dim negative view about dealing with China and hence have effectively posted a very twisted opinion that contradicts what was actually said.

EG 14th August pre that interview

Who on the board thinks the BGT deal will be signed off by the AGM ? Personally I don't and actually I think China will consume a lot of time and energy but will all come to nothing . I just think the politics will make it too difficult to do business there .
I think the main prospects come from the collaborations and AECOM.

You posted something similar on the 5th.

It's fine to have a dim view based on personal experiences and share those but not so fine imo to post seemingly false information about what was said.

What was said is it's all going well and is on track. If that changes and the BIGT is to fail then I'm sure they will let us know.

With it "all going well" this far down the road you can be sure most of the major hurdles, licences and permissions have long since been sorted.

Rhe

So can you please justify your post.

First up are we talking about the same interview which is the most current one.

Re BIGT

In that interview NR says

"It's all going well" "We are on track"

That is in response to the AGM timeline question about BIGT.

He mentions the difficulties with licenses etc but that is natural you have to get such things from the UK gov to do deals with China, that is no surprise and it's all going well. It has been going on for some time now.

So for me I see no correlation between your post and that recent interview.

Assuming we are talking about the same interview how can you translate all going well, all on track into the below

How can you justify this post, there was no mention of difficulties your post seems false.

Personally I am pretty sure having listened to the latest poddie that there is very little chance of BIGT happening any time soon and virtually zero of it landing before the AGM.
When NR starts talking of ‘difficulties’ it usually means the time line has slipped and is out of his control.

Rhe

I'm not get suspicious about your post.

When I read it I thought `I must have missed something in the interview as I don't read it anywhere near what your post suggested.

So can you please point to what you heard in that interview to justify the below

"Personally I am pretty sure having listened to the latest poddie that there is very little chance of BIGT happening any time soon and virtually zero of it landing before the AGM."
When NR starts talking of ‘difficulties’ it usually means the time line has slipped and is out of his control.

I'll record what was actually said in the next post.

I am listening to it and I have yet to come across any mention of 'difficulties' which you have as having meaning and thus caused you to record that rather negative view.
