What do you mean "if" Super. A note of uncertainty which will not improve my mood having my nerve stretched to the limit and worrying at 3 a.m. what the share price is going to open at. Do you have any idea as to the timescale we are looking at here without compromising yourself?

"I reiterate if I'm rich" - Super

Glad you are, I'm feeling poor at the moment. Hopefully you mean 'if I'm right'? Freudian slip perhaps...

rid

I reiterate if I'm rich then the coming news is substantial and beyond what anyone here thinks.

What the share price does in between is up to those buying and selling.

It's building like a pressure pot and I'll be around to see how far away the lid lands when all the contracts start to drop into place. But then of course that it is only just the start, just scratching the surface.

Mike Re

Katie

If only she had paid attention to a file handed to her on AGM known instead of investing in them. Hayd too I believe. Perhaps she ignored the AGN file it had all she needed top run away from it.

So she should have paid attention to the quiet BBs too where the AGM case is listed in full in the header.

PI research v funds that have no clue or desire to give damn what they invest clients money in.

Worzel, I check the prices and stock availability several times a day when I suspect that the ADVFN advertised prices are wrong. It gives me an insight into whether we are about to move up or down. Some have said they like me to post those things, others are irritated by it. I apologise to that group, and I do post the numbers a lot less than I used to. Probably less than once every 2 days now, and only if it's significant to the share price

OK I now have an answer - sort of - on IG and as to whether they lend out stock to shorters from their long clients positions - (he very kindly replied from home after work).

The answer is YES BUT only to the extent that they 'lend it out' (to themselves) to cover IG's own short positions.

However it is not that simple - surprise surprise!

After a number of emails gradually squeezing out info', it seems that IG don't buy or sell shares in the market at all (my questions and answers related only to VRS and can't guarantee this answer covers all IG's 'trading' and I gave up on their physical share clients i.e. not spread betters, normal traders/holders).

To quote: We hold stock with our prime broker. They could potentially then be lending the stock out externally. We would only lend internally to our clients.

Obvious next question then answered:

We have different prime brokers but they are all too tier banks. I wouldn’t be at liberty to say which ones.

So there we have it ... except ... my understanding is that banks and therefore presumably these banks often support Market Makers but I'm not sure on that without checking - perhaps someone else can help.

Anyway enough for this evening, my second glass of Villa Maria Sav blank is looking very lonely -

Cheers - spike

Fireball, given 78% of IG spread bet clients are currently long, the more the shorts succeed the more their long clients lose and the more money IG makes.

Figures vary but 78 - 81% of Spread betters lose money, so yes inevitably they will always be losing clients BUT as they say - there is one new one born every minute.

Best wishes - Spike

Markets play on fear and greed. Put out there that there is a shortage of soya milk, due to the bean lice and there will be a shortfall of soya products on shelves. Those that want it hoard it, those that see an opportunity speculate. Here we are attempting to deal with market fundamentals, sales, margins, opportunities, growth prospects, political risks, funding, management, supply, competition, world markets, disasters, conflicts and Club Sandwich, no wot I mean. Sleep well, most of us will be here to meet new challenges and conflicts tomorrow. VRS are the pack leaders and the ones with that disruptive product that everyone wants to stay in the game.

Hello Folks,

NR was asked about MM STORs -what is that?

If IG lend shares or something to 'shorters' surely they don't want them to suceed
and close because then they get no more money from them - Is that right?

That WMG video was really good - thanks for posting Mike.

I think they do but might be wrong. It is for that reason I use selftrade/equiniti for most of my shares. I like IG for functionality but don't think they get best prices. Virtually always get a better price with selftrade. My experience anyway.

I've been trying to get a definitive answer for a twitter query to Neill regarding whether IG lend out their long positions. I've had one answer, but it left as many questions as it answered.

The guy there I know has left for the day so more info' tomorrow - hopefully.

If 'Duncan' is on this BB perhaps he can pm me.

Edit: what I can say is that IG's long positions are hedged against their own short (not surprisingly), and they don't keep an 'even book' i.e. IG may have an overall long or short position and won't necessarily hedge that in the market i.e. purchase underlying shares to cover the bets.

They have a risk level on each share that they accept, but beyond that they will hedge by buying the underlying shares.

Best wishes - Spike

22% of current IG positions are short. So still a good few to close out.

Topped up at 79p today having already topped up on Monday to six figure holding I've had for over 12 months. I must say too many people on this thread don't help the situation talking the company down and quite frankly talking like shorters.

I'm a few hundred posts behind, been out all day.

Anything of interest, other than the bounce.

Back on Hayd I do fear for their survival as by my calcs at 450k cash burn per month they need over £5 mill and I've just realised they M/C is £3.3 mill at todays share price

The share prophet lot suggest 5p which could be BS but who knows. The important thing there is if that lot had inside info and went short then they are complete muppets for putting out that they knew. Currently at those levels it's crazy dilution but 5p obviously a lot worse.

Hayd are currently the victim of the nomad (nomad did some funds over too) and bad business decisions.
