ridicule - in which case IG would presumably suggest you become a subscriber ;-)

NR does podcasts. Those are available if signed in to hear, but are not all published as market announcements.

ridicule - i agree but actual revenues won't hit the P/L for a while so you will still be looking at price action with "known future revenues" if that happens as VRS scale up manufacturing to produce the materials ... but even saying a unicorn in a few months is undervaluing where i believe this company "could" be in 5 years time hence not worrying about that!

Disagree Grabster. If my CEO is making comments along the line of the objectives outlined by IG, I would like to be judge on whether the statements are market moving along with all of IG,s clients.

Meganxmas, Mikebrenner I agree re Katie’s position and the potential benefits this offers PIs. You and many are right to take a 5 year view but, the very special and tantalising aspect of VRS is that, with China and Aecom plus the Collabs, they could become a Unicorn in months or even weeks. That is what is so rare and exciting here. It is also, for all the reasons I outlined in an earlier post today, why the VRS share price is so open to volatility.

Great post hew. Rumours and fact and fiction can be dispelled in tweet.eg. no fund raise rumour quashed. 'No idea' for share price volatility. In the blink of an eye, we learned the fullers agreement was to help with ongoing collabs, not a desparate bid for new business. And as neill pointed out, he has plenty of skin in the game, unlike many ceos. Aimo. Best ellis

" I do believe, if the interviews are restricted to IG clients, then VRS has a responsibility to place the interview on their website as it could materially affect the share price"

I think that should read "if it is considered LIKELY to materially affect the share price."

Lots of interviews are carried in trade journals and the like. They don't all need full market publication just because of some possibility that they merely might affect share price.

I'm sure we'll see an element of those who bought at sub 80p today, bailing out around now, at 90p to 95p. That's natural I suppose.I doubt that many of the regular faces on here will be doing that, but some traders will have been attracted by the volatility.

Listen very carefully ... 2.30 mins in ...

For the life of me i can't think of anyone with a new technology to dramatically increase the size of the electrodes to generate more power. Whilst we are focusing on super capacitors with gnanomat, there will be a big push here to as the industry is crying for new solutions

I look forward to the IG interview. Are IG a company that loan out shares ??.

"Axotyl's view of Level 2 shows the request for 90,000 shares at 59 is still open... interesting. A shorter, or gang of them, is getting desperate." - bish

It's been there for months. Rainbow's single share has gone, though.

Exactly meganxmas ... understand the market dynamics of how institutional money thinks and behaves and that is the PI opportunity e.g. timeframe, liquidity, market cap, research, internal compliance, its own investors it has to please! etc ... naturally comes with risks that others can manipulate the price in the short term, and very reliant on quality of management to execute to generate revenues & profits!

MIFID 2 - no idea if it should stay or go ... key for me as a PI is that the AIM market is not functioning for SME growth companies as a way to raise funds and grow so more an more are not listing and taking private money. If you asked NR again i wonder if he would list VRS again? Doubt it - probably wait to list it at a much higher valuation!

From my perspective i treat VRS more like a VCT investment than a share to trade in / out of ... benefit of it being a share though is i have scaled gradually into my large position and have clear investment plan depending what happens (add or sell as a share gives you that luxury still). The current price is largely irrelevant to me as in my mind i'm looking 5 years out not 1 month out as that is my horizon for when i think the business value will start to be truly recognised. In the meantime, research, validate investment thesis with VRS business progress, sit on hands and don't listen to the noise ... but occasionally take advantage of it :0)

We've just seen one very serious attempt to bail him out before take-off. We might see another, sooner rather than later, although I'm sure the uncertainty around Brexit means that they'll have another go around the end of March.

By the way it was IG that asked to speak to Neill - on behalf of IG's VRS clients.

I have just secured an intv with Versarien founder and CEO Neil Rickets. Sorry about the short notice, but it is provisionally planned for tomorrow Thursday 21st Feb at noon.

Shares in the company have been falling for no apparent reason and I want him to explain what’s happening? The company owns patents in the graphene space and has secured some potential deals in China which were initially good for the stock. What’s happened, where now and what is he doing?

Best wishes - Spike

Trapped - and you said you had me filtered - thought not, so much for your 'honesty'.

I suggest you email IG and complain since they do interviews all the time and they are the 'publisher' not Neill.

Good post Mike ... Katie is pretty astute and agree with much of what she says particularly around liquidity of small and micro caps and inability for institutions to trade effectively. Also with disproportionate impact of retail as a result. Can see where she is coming from 're exits as retail pushed values up but at same time I suspect that if the value and proportion of VRS in the fund hadn't gone so high she could well have held on as think she is a strong believer in the business. At the end of the day funds such as Herald need to beat benchmarks and meet liquidity demands and VRS has presented a great opportunity. Think difference with many retail investors is that they invest looking for the life changing game changer. VRS could become that but long way to go. On the right track though.

If there's going to be a global leader in supplying 2D materials it's going to be Versarien, if it's not Versarien there's no need for a 2D materials global leader, in which case the world's leading academia have got it wrong, I know which outcome I'm backing.

I'm afraid as well as US China relations, we have our own 'Hawk' (idiot)threatening gunboats and spoiling the party, none of which has hindered the shorts of late. Fox losing the meeting with China premier may amount to nothing in the long run but, along with other factors, has played right into their hands.

"Unfortunately I don't think it's possible to view the interview unless you are an IG client."

does that not breach the rule that information should be disclosed to all s'holders at the same time? I know it's not price-sensitive, but still...

Thanks for posting that Mike. A very interesting insight where KP might be regarded as a supporter of VRS but at lower prices. I wonder if she will be tempted back in now.

If Brexit happens, do you think lobbying to ditch MiFID II in the UK is likely/achievable?
