What a load of bunkum KLF, that made me laugh but do apologise if you really believe that!

I suppose in reality a general update wouldn't go amiss because PI's who bought in at the placing don't have access to any information on how the company is progressing.

It takes a lot of time, effort and testing before a deal is struck.

This really isn't a good thing.

"For now VRS have said they are talking to over 100 large companies"

It either implies VRS are not using their resources efficiently (unqualified sales pipeline) or that hundreds of companies are getting some free handholding whilst simultaneously deciding nothing VRS offers is worth paying for judging by the paucity of news on actual contracts.

The way I work Lucky is to check out what they say.

So when AGM quoted the CEO and rod launch I looked for the rods and asked the company making them, it was a lie. He didn't say what was in the news that and they had not been launched. The quote of the CEO was simply invested.

It's no different with VRS, when they say something I check it out.

When we knew it was Mclaren for the first order then I found a contact who walks up and down the pit lanes. So he was doing his bit to try and find out what he could. Being McLaren and the highly secret nature of F1 nothing has turned top yet via that source.

Hastings knows of something when he visited Cambridge but there is no way he will post it.

I can't spill the beans. I didn't say anything about the Nanene website either which I had found months before it was known.

It's all about keeping your sources.

EG one PI heard something a month or two back (not from me) and therefore a comment at the AGM would have mush more meaning to him than anyone else.

My point there follows on from the matter of significant things lined up v the reality of things becoming contracts, JVs deals etc etc.

Until done they have no value but if converted some are substantial.

It is public info it's just in a general lines.

"This has been a very busy period across Versarien as a whole and we are seeing record levels of enquires from potential purchasers of our products and users of our technology. We look forward to making further announcements in the coming weeks and months."

and

"We continue to receive record levels of enquires from potential purchasers of our products globally and look forward to making further announcements as appropriate."

That along with the big company comments.

Back to the guy over the pond, if you recall he though there was a fair chance that there was oil right across the area on a particular level and obviously as we knew we could then track the test wells they did (which I did BTW) but it didn't work out.

Obviously if they had worked out just you and I would have known in the UK.

I recall one guy based in Algeria telling me a well supervisor had told them over a beer that they had hit a gusher. I looked up the share and advised caution as it was clear far too many knew as there was chat about a gusher on various BBs. A sure sign that someone wanted all to know for an exit. Buying did come shortly followed by duster news.

In short if many know about it and talk about it, the buying starts with an share price reaction then it should become news.

I remember one flying on a big info leak and the nutty PIs kept buying like mad with an share price soaring. The rules are simple, 20% move on that basis and an announcement has to be made. If there is no announcement the rumour is untrue. If any share shifts 20% either way the regulators call the company to check if it's info leak related/insider dealing etc.

We've already had one rns forced here through information posted.

For now VRS have said they are talking to over 100 large companies some of which we know are huge. They are at various stages with them some more advanced than others.

Good reminder superg.

Aircraft parts order (and possible interest in nanene)
CPI order both being completed presumably and overall group sales up 25% +

Thermal was supposed to be picking up too, overall not a bad place to be. Not too sure what is happening at Cambridge ink as with graphene everyone seems to be supplying it now.

OK SG U aint gonna spill the beans - fair enuff but the old teasy weasy stuff does get a tad bit irritating on a falling share price as Im sure you know!

Didn't stop me just not looked until now.

The answer is I know what PIs are like with information.

I recall the share (but forgot it's name) re the tomato extract and posters claiming workers that owned shares were all in tears on the anticipation of being millionaires. The BB was barmy.

EG Let's say it was leaked that Apple were seriously looking at some tech share with enthusiasm and for whatever reason it became known.

Can you imagine what the BB would be like and every pump artist that exists on ADVFN.

All very exciting but absolutely meaningless if Apple had a good look and didn't like it. Nano with DOW was a great example of a one name big PI interest share. There have been dozens of them over the last few years some of which have taken off to over £400 mill plus market caps based on one name and hope.

With graphene it's going to be in more products and in such a diverse range than all previous tech shares combined could hope for.

And the short answer is you don't know what I know. But that comes through research. Those that didn't attend the Cambridge day don't know they listed as NDA'd unless they have been advised since.

The aircraft part was mentioned Cambridge day first order due in September. Nothing in reality is inside info until it is actually definitely going to become news, signed off etc. Until the last signature goes on it's nothing.

That's where 99% of the BS is in the market. Hot tips and whispers that in near all cases are false.

SG - No disrespect intended but unless you have signed an NDA with Versarian then what you have legally gleaned is in the public domain - Why specifically would my chin be in danger of a bash or two?

Well you be pleased to learn then that your view is the same as the company.

Hence they don't put out hype news and details of the lower level collaborations going on. While they have some seriously material testing going on with some very big names, NDA'd with them and various types of aspects in play, then it's all meaningless until something material develops from that.

If some knew what was going on they would they would be mouth agape saying "why isn't that in news".

It's because until it turn into something material it won't be news. Too many AIMs go on about the huge opportunity because they are in discussions with someone. Usually it's just one chat with one big company. The share price takes off in anticipation of a deal.

They are well aware of that and hence don't like hype.

As for awards.

Those is general are gained through hard work and dedication so it confirms as stated previously that the team (CEO in particular) is well thought of and works very hard.

Fortunately for us the CEO can do the work of about half a dozen so at this time the company is not loaded with cash sapping dead wood.

The support that does sit there on the graphene is the BDM and what looks like a consultant David Kerr.

Don't knock it , it's money in the bank.

He has done all the groundwork and got contacts in a lot of large companies high ups too! The consensus seems to be there was some hesitation around due to the hype companies on graphene and that is damage that needs undoing for those that used it and found no advantage.

Hopefully the travelling is now done and telephone calls , emails etc; are the order of the day, not aware if anything came out of the visit to the States but it was the choice of the shareholders at the AGM not to vote against it.

In reality VRS is cheap and has a hell of a lot of potential.

All very enlightening but until a contract is signed its worthless in the grand scheme of things. There has been lots of travel, engagement, twitter intrigue and personal recognition (doctorate for something or other) but it means nothing to the shareholders unless a concrete business deal is completed. I'm not saying the work isn't going into 'getting things done' but its time something concrete was provided rather than relying on twitter updates on the location of his most recent travels!

Versarien to supply graphene to the CPI
Sep 19, 2017Boron NitrideVersarien
The advanced materials engineering group Versarien announced that it has won a tender for the ongoing supply of nanomaterials to the Centre for Process Innovation. Versarien will supply up to 1.2 kilograms of graphene in a variety of forms to the CPI, in addition to hexagonal layer boron nitride.

Neill Ricketts, chief executive of Versarien, said: "We are very pleased to have been successful in all the tenders we entered into to supply the CPI with our nanomaterials after a competitive process". "For Versarien this is an important route for the commercialization of products enhanced by graphene and other related materials", "We continue to receive record levels of enquires from potential purchasers of our products globally and look forward to making further announcements as appropriate," Ricketts said.

Thanks for that both of you, now why would that be significant enough to post on twitter when there are so many other things on the go, would it suggest that the heatsink business is building up?

Any answer of course would be speculative unless it comes from the horses mouth.
