20/10/2017 12:29 | Superg1 what do you make of Ionic? The management there must be big believers to be putting so much cash in personally. Could somebody who has the time start a thread on Ionic? It's not listed at the moment but Australian listed entity Strategic Energy Resources (SER) holds about 20% | theklf
20/10/2017 12:22 | I've heard of people sleeping their way to the top but looks like our CEO is sleeping his way to the bottom | theklf
20/10/2017 11:22 | Correct Turbo - and was notified about it November last year. I better have another cup of coffee! :-) | vasilis
20/10/2017 11:17 | I think Henderson are now under the umbrella of LO I guess I better stop posting about ACVT, after all this is the VRS threat... | turbocharge
20/10/2017 11:14 | Turbo/Tim - OK. I think my confusion stems from the holding being listed as Henderson in one place and LO in another. Same thing so the holding is as you and Tim state. | vasilis
20/10/2017 11:12 | TD also shows Lombard holding 11.48% It also lists P2IPO Ltd as holding 24.78% | turbocharge
20/10/2017 11:07 | Turbo - are you sure that LO haven't off-loaded since 1 April 2017 when that holding of LO's was reported? The link I used is supposedly correct as at 28 September 2017. What is the date of your list Turbo? | vasilis
20/10/2017 11:07 | >>>>Vas Just reporting what I heard and saw last night. From my notes, I have it down that the slide in question had LO down as holding 11.4% (the second largest shareholder), the Q&A session was recorded and the slides will be available shortly, so should be able to verify, but for now I would consider the CEO to be a better source of information than any web source which will not have access to an up to date share register and may also be susceptible to transcription errors. On Andy Goodwin, I guess FGR recognize that they need representation in the UK and Europe if they are to fulfil global ambitions, hence the hire, although I'm not entirely sure that travelling across the globe 4 times a year is absolutely necessary when video conferencing may suffice on some occasions. | timbo003
20/10/2017 11:02 | Stig We all have to sleep. The only difference is that NR has spent just one night sleeping rough instead of his own bed and helped raise money for a good cause. It's a personal thing - nowt to do with the BOD of VRS or even the counting house of 'Scrooge & Marley'! Still, hopefully NR's 'good turn' will be seen and rewarded by the 'Spirits of Christmases to come' in a much awaited contract RNS so that Bob Cratchit's family in Camden Town will get to have a good Christmas this year :-) | vasilis

20/10/2017 10:47 | Whilst laudable of Mr Ricketts to sleep out to raise £400 wouldn't it be better given how busy they are that he concentrates on business and get the Board to direct some charity contributions to whichever charity they favour? | the stigologist
20/10/2017 10:38 | Tim 1 I've just had a quick shooftie to see who the major shareholders of Avacta are and I come up with the following from - IP Group plc – 24.79% Henderson Global Investors – 11.39% Aviva 9.60% Ruffer LLP – 7.08% Baillie Gifford & Co Limited – 6.62% J O Hambro - 5.99% Fidelity - 5.94% NFU - 3.49% As the total number of shares are calculated as those in issue at 28 September 2017 I assume that this list of major shareholders is correct. Ergo, LO are sub 3.49%. Hardly 'major' - though above 3% to be notifiable I admit - but 'peanuts' in the scheme of things in my view as regards total shareholdings in Avacta. 2 So Andy Goodwin left Thomas Swan to become a 'consultant' with FGR and committed to travel four times per year to see the Aussies......I bet the Aussies just love the idea of a 'Pom' coming over every 3 months or so to 'sort them out'. Why didn't he go over to Australia rather than take on this 'royal visit' role? This type of thing rarely works better than full in-country commitment in my view. You need a Neill Rickett's type approach - full time and full on to give yourself the best chance to succeed in your role! | vasilis
20/10/2017 10:09 | thanks for your concern timbo. I am very happy here thank you. | phoenixs
20/10/2017 09:48 | A couple of items which may be of interest: I attended a Shares Magazine investor seminar event yesterday evening, where Alistair Smith (CEO) was outlining the investment case for Avacta (AVCT). During his presentation Alistair showed a slide which listed the major shareholders in Avacta (which included Lombard Odier) and described them all as very supportive, this seemed to be at odds with some of the comments on this thread that have implied that LO were dumping shares in all of their small caps. During the subsequent recorded Q&A session, I queried whether LO were committed, long-term shareholders and noted that they had been aggressively selling down their stake in some other small caps companies. In response, Alistair reiterated that LO remained very supportive and had not been selling their stake in Avacta. As discussed on this thread a couple of weeks ago, materials expert Dr Andy Goodwin recently left Thomas Swan to join First Graphite resources (ASX: FGR). There is a new interview with Andy on Finance News Network where he describes his new (UK based) role with FGR: | timbo003
