19/12/2018 16:40 | Academic review of the 'space race' from last year for those wantjng an overview. Best ellis. 'Private companies are launching a new space race – here’s what to expect.' October 3, 2017 11.53am BST Monica Grady, The Open University | ellissj
19/12/2018 16:36 | That reminds me re aecom 'large structures' superg, i forgot that neill also mentioned 'structures' re china space in poddy i think. Can anyone confirm pls ? Best ellis | ellissj
19/12/2018 16:27 | SuperG, I accept that, and yes I had read it thoroughly and pieced the jigsaw together. My problem is that whenever I'm invested in something that looks like it could be great, it never is. A bit of 'battered wife' complex I suppose. The exception to that was GVC, which 10 bagged for me and bought my stake in VRS.I also think that if I know something good, then more powerful and richer people must also know, and always before I do too!So, because the share price showed no signs of insidious accumulation, I didn't want to believe it.I suppose if I'd seen the website with my own eyes, I wouldn't have been such a doubting Thomas. | festario
19/12/2018 16:24 | VRS don't need to issue an RNS saying BTW when we say large we mean 4m x 5.5m. So far graphene on the PR front graphene has been used in tennis rackets (not graphene but graphite), golf balls and the soles in training shoes (G Oxide). Someone posted somewhere I believe that the loadings would be in the 2-6% range. | superg1
19/12/2018 16:21 | The bits some may have missed. "We look forward to continuing to work with AECOM on the final phases of testing and look forward to making further announcements on this project in the New Year." Perhaps not that bit but this bit. It isn't a typo. 'These quantities will be used for final testing of the structures and upon successful completion of final tests, the companies expect to make further announcements in Q1 2019.' To repeat THE COMPANIES expect to make further announcements in Q1 2019.' Aecom created a website dedicated to the launch, they intend to announce it too, you could register to be informed immediately when launched. As I keep saying its all in news, people just don't read it. Mryl Yes imo it's very big as stated by NR. As for the large structures mentioned in news they are something like 4 metres by 5.5 metres. | superg1
19/12/2018 16:19 | Yes indeed thanks to Scrutable and what a charming tale that is. My first ever post but have been lurking for some time. Thanks to the serious posters for the amazingly useful research. I was lucky enough to build a modest position at 15-22p about 3 years ago. Sold some at 90 just to make sure I couldn't lose and have since topped up a couple of times. I'm not selling any more. What an exciting company to be involved with. Great management team and fellow investors. Might have met some of you at golf day, AGM etc. Happy Xmas to all | quietconfidence
19/12/2018 16:16 | Fest I'm confused as to why you refuse to accept things that have been stated from facts. Aecom original news. Versarien and AECOM, a US headquartered and Fortune 500 company, which is involved with multiple projects globally, 'will initially be working on a project involving the incorporation of Versarien's proprietary Nanene few layer graphene nano-platelets into large- scale polymer structures used in civil infrastructure projects, with a view to increasing their structural strength.' NR comments in that news the first where our graphene will be incorporated into a large scale structure for use in construction. Should this collaboration progress as we hope the potential for Versarien is considerable, as the volumes of graphene that will be required are significantly larger than for many other applications given the scale of the structures being produced. The last Aecom news. pleased to announce that it has signed a supply agreement to provide Versarien's new graphene enhanced polymer range to AECOM for a current infrastructure project. This collaboration covered a project that AECOM and Versarien have been undertaking involving the incorporation of Versarien's graphene nano-platelets into large scale polymer structures used in civil infrastructure projects, with a view to increasing their structural strength. So we know the project is the same as the one announced previously but it's moved on. the volumes of graphene that are required in these types of structure are significantly larger than for many other applications given the scale of the structures being produced. Then in the podcast NR said the recent was for the ISO testing and that it was a very large project. Your point is if its big why haven't VRS announced it in an RNS. ?????????????? They already have. Check the next post. I do keep saying read every bit of news thoroughly. | superg1
19/12/2018 16:14 | I’ve bought and sold shares for many years - some losers and some winners such as Celsis International, Retail Decisions and Paysafe. The winners have all had informative and polite bulletin boards. Versarien outshines my winners. Extraordinary management, huge potential...and what a great bulletin board! | verger
19/12/2018 16:07 | This tweet celebrates one of the projects between uk space and nasa. The picture with it says uk/nasa have started talks re 'further collaboration' and cites new tech as one area ! 19/12/2018 15:29 | Uk-nasa already in collab 5 years ago. Best ellis UKSA and NASA to collaborate on major missions By Edd Gent Published Thurs The UK and the US will collaborate on three major space projects launching missions to the Sun and Mars. Mason Peck, chief technologist at NASA, visited space facilities and companies in the UK this week to see the work being carried out following recent agreements to cooperate on the projects by the two countries. The first collaborative mission scheduled for launch is the Sunjammer Project, a solar sail demonstration due to take off in 2014, which will be followed by NASA’s Insight mission to the Red Planet in 2016 and the European Space Agency (ESA) Solar Orbiter mission in 2017. “Cooperation and collaboration are critical to meet increasingly global challenges, and our partnership with the United Kingdom in space exploration and technology development is essential to meeting common goals,” said Peck. “I’m delighted I have the opportunity to see first-hand the good work UK space companies are doing, and continue building this strong partnership.” | ellissj
