17/12/2018 16:42 | "The significance of VRS's recent updates will only mean something to those that are following the story more closely" so just us lot on here, then ;-) | club sandwich
17/12/2018 16:31 | ano rinse and repeat day | adejuk
17/12/2018 16:30 | Club... I suspect that for the outsider, there is nothing meaty yet on any of those statements. The significance of VRS's recent updates will only mean something to those that are following the story more closely. | dtaliadoros
17/12/2018 16:16 | We keep getting great news like this and we'll be below £1 in no time... ;-) | club sandwich
17/12/2018 15:38 | The problem is the markets not VRS. With all the doom and gloom around the world investors are risk off and biding their time hoarding cash until some clarity appears before making further decisions. Meanwhile VRS carries on building the basis for a great future...... AIMHO etc | lovat scout
17/12/2018 15:23 | Fuji, I suspect what frustrates people is that most other companies haven't had the flow of good news that VRS has recently, particularly the AECOM RNS where it seems like it's just a matter of time until a game changing order arrives. | melf
17/12/2018 15:14 | How can some people dare question VRS slight share price drop today while the rest of the market and stocks are literally butchered for more than a week ? | fuji99
17/12/2018 15:02 | Thanks MIKE for you helpfull comments. Its the way MoU - INOV-8 have made claim to the graphene hiking boots when VRS and indeed others have a claim to this success. The faculty did not want to give out who the supplier was and lets leave it at that.........an unresolved case which points yet again to the inefficient way this organisition is. Moral of the story is to be open and bring on the IOS rules and regulations asap. | anley
17/12/2018 15:02 | Great post mikeb. Best ellis | ellissj
17/12/2018 14:52 | "From the podcast re the patent....''Massive milestone event''" sadly the markets don't agree (yet). same question as always: when is all this marvellous news going to feed through to a higher share price? at the end of the day, that's why we're all here... | club sandwich
17/12/2018 14:49 | Hi Anley, I'm not too concerned what UoM (or XG, FGR, Haydale etc ...) are doing as its all building the market for graphene applications. UoM have their own capabilities to manufacture graphene oxide as well as from partners like Thomas Swann ... They are obviously keen to widen the suppliers on offer hence GEIC partners and new UoM spin offs - as long as it builds the market it will be great news for VRS. We know where we have our edge both product wise and company skill set wise in commercialising IP from uni's and its a big VRS differentiator esp when we prove scale up with the likes of polygrene and AECOM (this will be a world first for graphene!). I see copetition not competition as the most likely longer term outcome ... we collaborate and work together in the GEIC where it makes sense where VRS are the supplier who adds most value Vs cost for customers but doesn't preclude both parties talking to suppliers separately. RNS and podcast - Nice update IMO as shows the same process they did with Nanene and Graphinks tech that they are starting with Gnanomat. Below is the rough process i see, value adds and timeframes 1. Get alignment with both parties on a good fit, value add and deal to drive right long term behaviours (Done - completed Q3 2018 - Nice upside for Gnanonmat and VRS shareholders should this work!) 2. Secure patents to protect IP (ES done - Global is next but will take time) 3. Develop deeper partnership discussions to scope out needs and job to be done - Focus will be supercapacitors as VRS solves instant problem with their tech whereas carbon ion batteries have other gaps to scale up outside of VRS tech.(Little black book of HMG DiT and VRS friends to scale global conversations like China with C level and target companies on top of existing Gnanomat partner discussions) 4. Fund manufacturing scale up and develop additional VRS IP on process and products (coming soon IMO from Innovate UK / Faraday and EU Graphene flagship funds) 5. Partner testing of applications with test samples (GEIC, Cambridge Graphene and WMG support key) 6. Testing in partner manufacturing process 7. Initial orders 8. Full scale orders. We know that 1-3 are in real progress based on recent RNS and pod updates. I think based on all going well it will take another 2 years for stages 4. 5. 6. so we shouldn't expect 7. initial orders until end 2020 with the beginnings of 8. Full scale orders in 2021/2022. Think Roberto said that he thought it would be 5 years before gnanomat tech was the mainstream application in super capacitors which would be 2023 so feels about right esp when compared to time for Nanene scale up. Obviously we hope things happen faster and NR & team with their huge drive and capabilities have the chance to do that, but we shouldn't underestimate the job to be done here! best Mike | mikebrenner
17/12/2018 14:38 | ELLISSJ...whoever the manufacturer is concerned they have made claims and INOV-8 need to publish those forecasts or face trade discription rules........ Research papers are no help its current facts that are required. | anley
17/12/2018 14:34 | GRABSTER.........hav This is the sort of information which is not helpful for anyone engaged in the Graphene development world especially VRS. | anley
17/12/2018 14:33 | From the research paper, as i recall, it was a 50% improvement noted, so consistency at least ! :) best ellis | ellissj
17/12/2018 14:32 | ELLISSJ..........tha As VRS is a very important member of the Manchester Graphene scene we as shareholders have a right to know about any spin-offs and developments. In this case its the UNI which is making claim as to the launch and there is no mention as to a spin-out business. Besides do we know what the quality is of this Graphene hence the need for the UK launch of IOS and not find ourselves (VRS) conflicts of interest. | anley
17/12/2018 14:31 | "50%.. and 50%.. and 50%" Not 48, or 61, or any other non-round numbers. Sounds a bit like those who only ever refer to 99.9% - ie, a bit sloppy and not really bothered about actual values. | grabster
17/12/2018 14:13 | Today volume is very low as the markets are becoming thinner as we approach the end of the year. I also don't expect any news until 2019 when all the "action" will happen. | fuji99
17/12/2018 14:13 | Anley, Its likely this chaps uni spin out firm, and they were using Graphene oxide from previous research (based from what he was researching). Aimho. Dyor. Best ellis "Using graphene we have developed outsole rubbers that are scientifically tested to be 50% stronger, 50% more elastic and 50% harder wearing. But this is just the start. Graphene is a such a versatile material and its potential really is limitless. Dr Aravind Vijayaraghavan" Or; via the university itself, looks like a 4 year collab in place. "This is a four-year innovation project which will see us incorporate graphene into 50% of our range and give us the potential to halve the weight of shoes without compromising on performance or durability.” | ellissj
17/12/2018 14:10 | Rang the PR department who said.........."the Graphene came from a supplier and they wont say who so ask INOV-8 as they had the boots made and found the supplier" | anley
17/12/2018 14:08 | Neill says vrs took a bit of a risk with gnano in this latest poddy, which is not his usual mo. Thus it seems the results must have been very good. Enough to fly out to spain pdq. And upon vrs majority stake purchase, we had cornerstone plus 3 II's interested (per poddy at the time). Thus i assume others liked the results too. Which (per same poddy at the time) were 'lab results.' Of course that was then, the market is now, and the world macro conditions are what they are. But, if vrs/gnano now have a patent and have derisked to this point, indeed the game has moved on. I await with optimism what happens next. Each to their own. Aimo. Dyor. Best ellis | ellissj
17/12/2018 14:02 | Well I can sit on my home town of Cleethorpes beach for the rest of my life now. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. (Rather sit on one in the Bahamas though) | zagrosfold
17/12/2018 14:01 | OK everyone we have some work to do........ Read what the link says and then we need to find out where the Graphene came from. I have asked but no reply just yet..........good luck everyone as it is important that we know what the UNI is up to as its not a commercial operation but a research unit. hxxps://www.manchest | anley |
