Is Neill on Twitter with his good intentions giving the 'shorters' a wider audience than they either merit or they would normally have? I certainly wouldn't even know they existed on Twitter if he didn't promote their views. He's answered their view points over and over again. I now feel its time to block them entirely and let them whistle in the twitter wilderness. Time to concentrate on #VRS long term family members :)

On FGR I looked at them a while back. They have decided to open a 90t production facility in Perth, Australia.

Perth is a great lifestyle City but when a small amount of common sense is applied you have to ask:

WTF have they decided to build a 90t per year facility at the end of the world? That equates to around 3.5m barrels of graphene or requires around 3 full super tankers to move their annual production around the globe and then shift the product by road from the destination port.

We know production of graphene has to be in close proximity to its end use.

Maybe their Management Consultant is Tim Kempster?!

News Nerd's Corner

Recent newspaper research threw up some interesting results for keywords Graphene and Versarien in the international press. As of yesterday, articles (loose definition) appearing in various rags, using their own internal search engines, and fighting through some paywalls, showed:

FinTimes: Graphene - 187, Versarien - 15

Grauniad: G - 1170 (dubious - not all articles), V - 7

Independent: G - 238 (dubious), V - 4

Los Angeles Times: G - 2 (Bill Gates’ mooted condom plan), V - 0

NY Times: G - 104, V - 0

South China Morning Post: G - 53, V - 0

Torygraph: G - 578, V - 59 (both dubious)

Wall Street Journal: G - 1 (graphene cables to support elevators to satellites), V - 0

Washington Post: G - 37, V - 0

Wall Street Journal was surprising - with all the recent conference/exhibition activity - just one article in the last 5 years?

Also, despite 'us' making contact with ADVFN USA, zero US hits on this board over a 72-hour period last week. However 310 unique visitors (UK), Ireland 3, Thailand 2, Namibia 1, Kenya 7 (me+2 on different devices?), Spain 9, Germany 2

Devices used for access in order of preference: Windows, iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Others

I wish NR would stop engaging with shorters/trolls on Twitter, he is simply feeding them, he is badly mistaken if he thinks continually defending himself on Twitter is the best way to deal with it.
I have no problem with him tweeting as such, but he needs to be much more disciplined and selective on his content. The same goes for David Kerr who has shown this week that the taunts are getting to him.

Agreed grabster, there is the inov8 'trainer' that james baker wore on the stage at the recent nga graphene conference. The ngi and geic isn't just vrs. In any case, the only firm i see scaling up with a declared iso compliant graphene is vrs ! Bring on the competition i say ! Aimo. Best ellis

Hi Rid, I posted a reply to you, giving a quote and link demonstrating vrs have been in collaboration with UoM since 2014. Maybe you didn't see it ?

Here's another one from another source, giving some further history between vrs and UoM and their ongoing relationship. Best ellis

"A couple of weeks ago we reported that Versarien acquired 2-DTech (a ;subsidiary of the University of Manchester) for £440,000 (around $740,000). The University of Manchester now announced that the deal is complete, and that Versarien actually acquired 85% of the company (the rest is probably still owned by the University).

The University updated that Versarien will also set up an intellectual property and research collaboration with the University, initially investing some £300,000 ($500,000) in two projects."

Here's the UoM article on vrs partnership from dec 14.

From some of the lopsided postings here anyone would think FGR are at UoM and GEIC and Versarien aren't.

"Versarien have also continued their partnership with The University of Manchester and have agreed to partner with the GEIC as part of the company’s increasing production capabilities of graphene. Neil Ricketts, CEO of Versarien said: “I am delighted that Versarien has joined the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre as a Tier One partner. Through the GEIC we will be able to access a world class facility and be at the heart of graphene developments. We will also benefit from working alongside other GEIC partners, enabling us to further advance the commercialisation of graphene.”

The subsequent MoU with FGR sees them supplying UoM with lab quantities for experimenting with. Nowt wrong with that. In due course the possibilities and the limitations of their material will become apparent. MoU as far as we know still maintain a shareholding in Versarien.

The university and GEIC will be exploring and trialling the capabilities of all grades of graphene, graphene derivatives, and other new 2D materials.
----------------------------

Although only three GEIC partners have so far been named, James Baker said in an interview a month ago "There are at least another eight potential partners waiting. In fact I must talk to one of them in a few minutes…"

SG1, further to ny post 40933, querying why FGR were awarded a 3 year off-take contract by UOM to support GEIC, you have not given me sresponse. From you previous comments it seems FGR. Provide an inferior product tu Nanene so why the Award?

I also notice you have not been posting lately, I hope you are Ok?

@ellissj

You had the following comment on one of the threads,
"Tata is a partner in geic"

This is not completely correct.

The UoM / GEIC only have 3 Partners, First Graphene, Haydale and Versarien,

Tata Steel are on the advisory panel, the Other GEIC advisory panel are Airbus, Akzonobel, BAE Systems, BP, GKN Aerospace, Johnson & Johnson, Jaguar Land Rover, Siemens and Thales.

Driving home from work tonight and was thinking just how much potential our company has to disrupt the market across multiple sectors, reading through previous material I don’t think I’ve been more positive regarding my position.

We have the best product in nanene also hundreds more 2d materials in the pipeline, great backing from HMG, great R and D facilities and staff. Hindsight will prove a wonderful thing for some aimo

Life conundrums throw up questions that there is no answer to.

Watching F1 and a Rightmove ad comes on , old chap walking up and down stairs , sells house and moves to a bungalow.

Why did they take the stair carpet?

Nico I will introduce you to a broker, where you can place your short but you will have to put a multiple of thousands in case the short comes back to bite you and the broker is not exposed to the risk.

Still long and strong(ish). Can't say I've enjoyed this last week much but I've had many more good VRS days than bad days.
Shame to see the cracks appearing amongst some of the regulars. Remember the old adage - keep your friends close and your enemies closer.. glaLTH

I do not know what lies the shorters are say in as they are filtered. However, I do feel as some are spending too much time in conversation with these no life’s.

I do not put Neill on a pedestal, he need s to deliver, but we all know that new cutting edge game changers take time to adopt, so I am prepared to give Neill and the team more time. I am certain they will deliver and have added twice this week.

To be honest, I am thinking of giving up in ADVFN, maybe ther is another way that intelligent investors can communicate without having to listen to people who just want to ruin the company. I do feel sorry for them what pathetic little small minded weak characters they are.

I rarely post, but have been in since the 15p days and have bought on the way up as my confidence in this company has grown. The quality of the management, the number of collaborations, the secondment of two key people from the DIT and the so many other areas in which the company are involved, make this investment for me, like no other that I have experienced, especially in such a small company. Like many others I have to thank those more experienced investers on this bb that post frequently and provide such superb incite and information. I do hope you all find the time to continue, it is much appreciated. I have read just about all the posts on this bb which is now reached an astonishing number - over 40,000 - its just so annoying to to get so many who post what are clearly lies to try to unsettle those who may not have done as much research. For me they are automatically filtered and stay that way

I and family have a huge holding in this comapany and like many of the lths here do not intend selling a single share anytime soon. It takes time for collaborating companies to test a new product. I know from my scientific background the amount of testing that will be going on and also the fact that results do not always fall precisely, giving definitive values, so repeat tests have to done in order to achieve statistically reliable values or ranges. Testing therefore can take its time, but as all collabs are still on board, that in itself says a lot, I for one feel very confident in the future of VRS as they continue to dominate in this space. Similarly, China will also take time, as I understand it, with the chinese it usually ends up being more of continually process. All requires patience, exciting times none the less.

I do of course, I don't need constant feedback but sometimes get frustrated at the words and actions of others. I suppose it is back to knowledge is a powerful thing and it must get frustrating for the team when you can't share . You will have the opportunity one day 👍

It is frustrating for us but part of that is seeing the nonsense written by the fear mongers and people believing it.
