The relevant tweet shown to me. Thectweet was the day before the fund raise. The 'market' would have been aware of the fund raise.

Theoretical question
@neillricketts
as I know you don’t need the money but if an”institutional investor” knocked on your door today and offered you £2-3m at 140p, would you take it? #VRS

Of course this may be a coincidence. Innocent until proven guilty etc but imo that needs looking at under the circs.

I've not started yet. Does anyone know the true ID of cycnicalbear. PM me if you wish.

Having done a bit of light digging, I can see that Gnanomat has a collaboration with a company called Hydra Redox Iberia but appear to also have links with the Repsol foundation. Repsol are the 3rd largest company in Spain and are the type of business that would be very interested in Graphene, and batteries with Graphene!! This is my bet - time will tell I guess.

Primarybid

How it works.

I wanted to know re control the book and a few were about including one city connection who said I am spot on re how dirty system is.

Primarybid opens up.

Funds, PIs, MMs and shorters can bid for stock.

Imagine being MMs. They control the market price. share price 180 ish stock available 145p.

An MM no brainer, stock available for 145p which they can sell much higher (easy money).

No need to wait for the stock, simply short sell it and back fill when the stock comes through to square the book, rub hands and smile at the easy profit.

Shorter, get wind of the fund raise, short sell pre fund raise 180p and stick an equal bid in for primarymid at 145p. The stock bought closes out the short. 35p made for being in the know.

Both if their primarybid request is refused can't square it up and have to go to the market and buy.

It opened Monday down. Hardly anyone could buy. So I suspect a failed tree shake was in play to square the books and they were hit with buy orders . Hence it ran off into the high 180's.

Having got to grips with that a PI wandered over and showed me a tweet from last week. My first thought having not seen it was dirty scumbags.

If you recall I said I was playing golf Friday and got a message Friday afternoon saying something odd was going on as shorts had suddenly increased.

Then came the rns.

So the inner me knowing the market is completely bent thinks some went short on inside info and my next step is to see if I can through city contacts establish certain 'points'.

I'll dig out the tweet. I was oblivious to it until today.

You know how much I hate the bent market.

So for me I suspect dirty dealings were going on both on the 160 dip AND the sudden addition of shorts Friday afternoon.

Off to do some digging.

Philibstar, a courteous post. I wouldn’t agree with your actions but wish you all the best. Hopefully see you again when we do get a sale for the next ride north.

Thanks to all that have posted their notes to the AGM and it was great to meet a good number of you today and also at the 'Set' the night before. Looking forward to the next event. The stand out for me is that while we may have not had detailed updates on the collaborations we know this is not possible at this stage given the need in most cases for the companies to keep their progress under wraps. What we did establish is that the first stage prior to the collaboration stage involves discussion on viability including pricing. This means that each collaboration is moving forward towards an agreed end goal. That is very encouraging. Also confirmed is that all the collaborations announced as all in play and none has stopped. Note: A side conversation confirmed this is not the case for competitors as they have lost collaborations to Versarien.

When you are buying, you don't need to rush and you need to listen to your innerself. Same applies to selling.

I had £2k cash today. Took time whether to buy today or not, decided in an hour looking at the price, bought some as mentioned earlier and had good feeling. There was nothing like forced trading.

If, Phil, you felt the need to sell today and you're in peace, then that is all you need. Rest is noise and ignore that.

Fest, you're brave. I guess you are one of the PIs with heavy investment in vrs. Your concerns are understandable. If one has e.g. 1 million gbp, it requires bravery to invest all in vrs at this stage and is not easy. Too much greater risk and hence too much greater reward if it comes to fruitation. I remember ownega once mentioned that after some serious discussion with his wife, he invested all he could in vrs and holds a decent amount. Same goes for many including me.

The exçitment will be there post such events. It gives confidence to all. When I attended Investor Day back in March, sentiments were same. But then just think, back that day on 26 March, share price was in 80p range. Exactly six months 25 September, share price is 180p. What a big difference. You're one million more rich.

Philbstar - you have to follow your rationale and instincts and which no one should criticise - it’s your cash after all and each buyer needs a seller.

However, in defence of VRS, it is incredibly difficult to reveal details whilst under NDA and the stakes are too high to compromise on that issue. This of course leads to varying degrees of speculation which can’t be confirmed or denied.

VRS do a great job with shareholder engagement and hopefully the company is at the end of the beginning phase !

How many did you sell today, the exact number.

Let me know and I will buy that number if I have the funds, as if to own your shares.

Now that is funny.

The have huge names falling over themselves to engage. China numbers multiplying with the same interest.

They key is each collaboration could have short timelines and others like critical aerospace parts years off, but the ball has to start rolling at some point.

There is no point trying to chase a few, those few mayturn into nothing.
Many companies chase binary bets. NR mentioned that point.

Countless AIM companies have gone bust on binary bets.

Phil, there is definitely a lot to get your head around here. This is a disruptive technology that is mindblowing in many ways. The opportunities are limitless.

If you don't have the time/inclination to understand the company then it probably isn't for you.

Good luck anyway.

Finally decided to pull the pin on this one. Only small holding which has done very well. The extraordinary diverse range of applications for graphene imo has totally clouded their business plan. I have no idea what they are concentrating on anymore and seems that there is a great deal of hope that one of many collaborations comes off. I prefer NR to totally commit to a limited number of collaborations / geographical areas to quickly determine whether they are viable. I could be wrong but imo NR has two many plates spinning and no sign of any clear direction of which one will be the golden goose.

My comment

I believe NR was cautious and worried as he thought I may say the name of a large company re Gnanomat.

I had no intention of asking questions until the question prior to me left investors thinking the triangle circs were complete.

I didn't want investors thinking that. Note I was up early researching.

In short the Gnanomat news set bells ringing for a person. I have to be careful as I don't want to tread on their toes.

Some months back they were elsewhere in a graphene conversation which had one guy talking about an exciting Spanish unnamed company with the detail very close to that of Gnanomat.

Then comments about who that company were talking to.

On doing so research I believe there is a connection (more to do).

So in knowledge of that I wanted investors to know that (if true) Gnano are already enaged with other companies.

The answer to that question was yes.

So while the triangle is there it is surrounded by others. The triangle itself has become stronger but the link up surely adds strength to those all around.

On that point NR said VRS have what Gnano want (quality gnps and the connections) and VRS want Gnano have.

I am still in the "if something looks too good to be true" camp. Still doesn't stop me making money but need to be vigilant.

You would think with all the collaborations and the long lead time with equipment delivery, companies would be rushing to bag the first production capacity, otherwise they might have to wait a year or two.

Neill did say that on Friday they did not know how the purchase of GNA would be structured. It could have been all cash required hence the minimum of 2.9 million stated in the PB details. It finalised as cash plus shares. The balance of funding taken to bolster the business, allow fast actions to be taken if opportunity arises

Fest. Neill said that he raised the cash on Friday not knowing that Gnanomat would prefer to take shares today at £1.50. Worst case scenario he said in case it was all cash they opted for. They opted for shares instead of cash. I suspect they were pleasantly surprised the way the offer was taken up and by yesterdays share price reaction. All positive as it tells us that they believe that VRS is only going one way - up
