In my experience referring to Welsh people as English normally starts some form of pugilistics

I'n not into oil shares but was looking up Bahamas for a friend (bad news recently)

While scanning the news this morning I saw ECO and that a big oil company has been hitting it big near their shared acreage. Both companies are about the same market cap but ECO seems to have been largely overlooked. BPC well covered and herd all over it, ECO not so covered.

Just mentioning it for any oil type folk.

Neil is an anglicised form of Niall meaning ‘champion̵7;. I would guess Neill would have the same root derivation. Nice root to have by the way.

English through and through 🌞😆

"Last name: Ricketts. This is an English medieval surname, and the family name of Viscounts St Vincent. It is one which is usually derived from the pre 7th century Germanic and Anglo-Saxon personal name "Richard". This was composed of the elements "ric", meaning power, and "hard", brave and strong."

Thetrophyman

The share price has doubled even with fund selling 5 mill end of May through July. The strongest moves have coincided with each DIT announcement.

I take it that such announcements attract a wider investor base but more importantly material confidence for the big names engaged and alerting the big names looking on.

NR says his work has tripled.

Prior to 5 new appointments NR was banging off emails no problem to whoever sent them. 5 extra staff and now he can;t keep up with emails it seems.

Last podcast said it's busier than ever.

But the important bit re share price move is the old game of a supply.

Typically share prices drop when a supply is in play, this one has been rising into a supply that will stop at some point and may run into China news around the same time.

Had reply from NR. In order for it to not look like the company is receiving preferential treatment using taxpayers' money, the company repays the govt the salary that the govt pays to Peter and Matt. And Versarien pay expenses. The rate of pay is lower than usual commercial sector rate.

Yes Snoopy, it's Neill, a Welsh name, so if you ever meet him make sure you call him 'Neiccchhhll'.

grab: yes the information is - to us - historic, but just as we are 6 months behind what VRS are up to behind the scenes, we are a year ahead of the 'herd', who - thanks to this publication (as Eel says) are now potentially a better informed herd.

STRN (publisher of that latest Mille watch article sourced via Manchester Uni) appears to have only one historic reference to Versarien - two years ago:

It says clearly that the research behind it has now been published in a peer reviewed journal. That means it will now be on the radar of lots more composites professionals, some of whom may wish to conduct their own tests for commercial applications. Hmmmmm... where can they get some good quality graphene?

Although the story of the Mille/McLaren watch has bubbled back to the surface this week, and articles such as this one are saying that new info is now available, it all sounds a bit 'groundhog day' to me - and doesn't seem to say anything more than was said 18 months ago. Even the various quotes by Young, Vuilleumier and Coburn sound like cut-&-pastes of quotes they made at that time. What has actually been "revealed" now? Anything at all? Is it just a PR rehash for Manchester Uni benefit? Bigging themselves up to reinforce a funding request?

Probably not graphene as we know it then, SuperG, or the pro would have noticed an improvement in performance. This is why the ISO and other standards are going to be so important. We don't want Joe Public's first impression of it to be a false one.
