19/7/2018 22:57 | Re the 3000kg thing.I'm not sure about the 10kg machine.Maybe the current one is calculated at 3x8 hour shifts, so 3 kg per day. With up time of 330 days that would be a tonne. So maybe the order is for two more of the one we already have.Just being conservative, although totally agree it is main news of the day. Rockets at the ready. | alfie4048
19/7/2018 21:49 | gonna ping 50 coins in the header to get the thread in the top 5 for ease of access. should get cpl days up there before it falls off the list. saves all the scrolling and searching that we don’t have time for in these days of instant gratification :) | ![]() rocket fuel

19/7/2018 21:24 | uh The mature businesses like AAC and Carbide mske money. The business that would need cash if rapid expansion is required would be 2D materials. For VRS it's a synergy thought process. EG they already have skilled engineers and customers like Rolls Royce and Schlumberger. An established history of precision, expertise and trust. So that includes the right staff and ready to go premises. In any case they like many here have no idea re certain potential at Total Carbide. | ![]() superg1
19/7/2018 21:19 | sg you've totally lost me on that one lawyer post. I have a sneaking suspicion you have been at the laughing juice again - naughty boy ;0) | ![]() spike_1
19/7/2018 21:13 | "Jointer every frigging lawyer I have ever known lies all the time" this is what he said on twitter. " If you sold the mature businesses you could avoid a placing / dilution for years at which point you could be at 500p rather than have the inevitable funding round within the next 12 months at 100p or less" we shall see...…".inevi | ![]() jointer13

19/7/2018 21:00 | Talking of sister machines it's a x10 rule on scale up so in theory they are going for a 10 kg per day machine add that to the 1kg kit and it gets near the 3 tonnes. In theory that also means they have tested it for production quality. | ![]() superg1
19/7/2018 20:59 | is that bare liar...or bear lawyer...? -) | ![]() jointer13
19/7/2018 20:53 | Cynical Bear is a lawyer apparently. I've yet to meet one that is remotely honest and straight. Whatever pays the bills is the rule. Makes sense being paid by lying crooks. :-) | ![]() superg1

19/7/2018 20:39 | Anyway, if Neill et al have confidence in their products (evidently they do) and anticipate exponential demand (reminiscent of IQE’s forecast inflections) and consider that we are in a race.., “ready, set, go!” then scaling up production and an appropriate supply chain would seem entirely appropriate at this juncture to get ready for an imminent deluge of demand. | hoverflyman
19/7/2018 20:32 | jkok and grabster, vasilis Your deduction that only £24k has been charged and received for graphene is very useful if correct. There is no reason why samples should not be charged for, or why giants like Airbus and Boeing should not pay fpr part of the costs of the research materials swallowed up in developing their products. CWR does well to have established a modest production line for development partners like Nissan and Honda to pay for small batches of their steel SOFC fuel cell to drive test vehicles, and OXB charge several collaborators profitably for batches of their unique lentivector supplied to bios developing all kinds of therapies based on genetic engineering. Both companies reduce development costs by more than £1m/pa by making bigger companies share the pain. Counter intuitively they gain respect. To shower global behemoths with free samples of such a rare and unique material is a sign of weakness, as is discounting of any kind. Try buying Chanel 5 bath soap with a discount anywhere. It's impossible except as a gesture to show appreciation of their clientele around Christmas. It can be good marketing by Chanel to maintain a strong price level and raises respect for quality and could be effective in promoting the best quality 2D materials. grabster is right in thinking that NDAs have no bearing on disclosure of graphene sales. nor on the price confidentiality. It would help if merely the quantities supplied were totalled for each quarter, so that one could determine the progression. It would also help to identify requests for repeat deliveries if any have ever been requested and the industry they refer to. All much more valuable to an understanding of the rate of progress than knowing where NR is having dinner. | ![]() scrutable
19/7/2018 20:27 | Drink, I was mulling that over as well, intriguing in the context of “increasing production for those wishing to use and evaluate the benefits of using our products, both in the UK and globally, and in particular with partners in China”. The CEO refers to maximising the opportunity for exponential growth as the market understands the advantages graphene can bring. Additional equipment has been ordered to attain “graphene capacity” of 3 tonnes per annum, whether Nanene or Graphinks is not specified. In the same paragraph he refers to the European equipment supplier whereas I believe the machine for Graphink is American so perhaps we can presume this refers to Nanene. I wonder what the lead time for this equipment is. | hoverflyman
