17/7/2018 20:33 | No honour amongst thieves but will just say that not all those going long are honest and will manipulate too which also plays into shorting hands and all just to get a few more £'s or shares. | ![]() luckyorange
17/7/2018 20:11 | Think about it. If those short new about funds selling why didn't they repeatedly go on about it to scare weak hands. There is also an assumption they all know each other and holdings. Do you guys all know each other and know who holds what and when re selling and buying. Often when buyers are around they will work to get large holders to release some. Holders won't give away how many they are prepared to let go. It's a game of smoke and mirrors both ends to get the best prices. The worst groups of friends are crooks, they sell each other out at the drop of a hat, they can't trust each other, they constantly lie. | ![]() superg1
17/7/2018 19:58 | Theresa May needs as many good headlines as she can find regarding UK prospects. Today she was able to show some good employment stats for the past quarter, which will doubtless get mentioned again at tomorrow's PMQs. I'm sure she will want to maintain the impact of that, with the strongest possible story that Versarien can come up with, and which she will want to boast her government's active part in. It would be no surprise if today's price surge was leak related. The complexities of government and civil service involvement do make it harder to guarantee discretion and to prevent insider dealing (at some deniable distance of course). At tomorrow's PMQs (noon-1245, always live on tv), she obviously cannot reveal anything about Versarien's results ahead of the next day's announcement. But if she happens to be privy to them, it might be worth listening to whatever she says about UK business expectations.. | ![]() grabster
17/7/2018 19:52 | Rat, agreed, these guys are making small change on VRS shorts compared to some of us longs. Who cares about them? Not me...! | ![]() richardc77
17/7/2018 19:45 | Do RNSs get logged early? Surely that's not up to market regs? I don't know just speculating. A China announcement wouldbt go amiss | ![]() sonsonnyjim
17/7/2018 19:41 | That was certainly some surge this afternoon - 10% in barely 2 hours. | ![]() grabster
17/7/2018 19:27 | An Rns logged at 15:00 for tomorrow morning seems more feasible than anything else at this stage. | ![]() diversification
17/7/2018 19:27 | I'm not saying there will be, but an RNS in the morning wouldn't surprise me.I'm chill either way. Future looking very bright IMO.. | club sandwich
17/7/2018 19:26 | Hi lucky you say big risks but I honestly think they are only playing with £100 a point bets max | ![]() ratpat999
17/7/2018 19:23 | Just seems odd that shorts would be closed all together at the same time today.. I imagine it's speculation ahead of Thursday, but the suddenness and random timing make me wonder | ![]() sonsonnyjim
17/7/2018 19:19 | Doesn't matter what it's called CS , so long as they give silver service who cares ;) Don't know how but shorters always seem to know how big a supply is and when it is likely to run out, the closer it is to running out the noisier they get. Almost makes you think that they have someone on the inside supplying them the information because you don't take big risks on a whim? What is your view ratpat999? | ![]() luckyorange
17/7/2018 19:12 | CS - don't worry, Tim I'm sure will find something among the Results to pointlessly quibble over. Everyone needs a hobby, and that's his. ;-) I can't help smiling when he tries to sound technically knowledgeable about graphene and its chemistry, using phrases he's heard somewhere - and attempts to argue about them with NR. | ![]() grabster
17/7/2018 18:46 | anley - DIT, not DTI... | club sandwich
17/7/2018 18:46 | It was my tweet wot done it... ;-) | club sandwich
17/7/2018 18:44 | Shavian - I wasn't worried; I was chuckling ;-) | ![]() grabster
17/7/2018 18:37 | The DTI don't do finance and I would be really interested to know if they have. Via the DTI and MW VRS can have over 120 countries doors open for them as well as all the other matters that are going on. Lets wait and see.............. | ![]() anley
17/7/2018 18:27 | Fascinated to see what the market does tomorrow. | ![]() sonsonnyjim
17/7/2018 18:20 | Grabster -post 21316. Don’t worry about those NanoXplore chancers. The terminology they use is all from the Canadian junior miners playbook - complete fantasy in my opinion. They would know a GNP if one bit them in the bum. Hey guys and gals, what a finish. Roll on Thursday. | ![]() shavian
17/7/2018 18:14 | - and the greatest, most immediate utilisation of graphene in mass market products will definitely be in China - so for VRS to choose to stay back from that while setting up some rapid UK production, seems an unlikely choice - unless the government proposes and funds something gigantic here, and fast. And by gigantic I do mean phenomenally huge - and no matter how supportive they are being, I'll be amazed if they come up with something big enough to justify holding off the China connection for long. EDIT: I am hoping that a big China agreement is going to be announced before long - and that any delay is merely going to allow a whopping big boost in Versarien's status before then - triggering a need for China to up its bid for whatever deal. | ![]() grabster
17/7/2018 17:53 | Sonson - it’s not that simple unfortunately. VRS have a globally appealing product range that needs to be manufactured locally in most cases so a local partner is usually the best option ( less capital intensive and operationally local knowledge can be priceless). The selection of these partners and IP protection is a key skill for NR and VRS team. | lovat scout
17/7/2018 17:52 | Pshevlin I think Mrs May loves you dearly! | loveder
17/7/2018 17:51 | End of day auction. Just that low number UT trade that came in at 135p but a 136p 10k bid appeared and that's why it closed at 136p. The mid price close is actually 136.5p so it should open a smidge up in the morning. It's all been on here (well the vague version) about the sellers and the buyers. I have potentially 3 funds buying. The 250k of buying came from nowhere and for now the best guess is one of the funds buying. It seems that action wiped out what Singer picked up yesterday and any since. | ![]() superg1
17/7/2018 17:43 | ratpack999 no need to pop the piles straining to be clever with the verbal diarrhea. (y) remember the market will be electric t/morrow,place your fill or kill trade now,or a n/t will be costly. | dreamtwister |
