I know I've said it before, but it merits repeating. The stock market, and AIM in particular has a habit of really latching on to companies who have moved from years of losses into profitability. It suggests that a good management team is in place, and it also proves that years of research and development spending is starting to pay off.I've seen shares jump by between 10% and 20% in such circumstances.I would like to buy some more before results day, I'm hoping that the timing helps me on that.

good morning 25wbh,be careful eoy results pending ! "red flag" will send the bulls blowing a gasket.

forward projections will hype the rampers in to a frenzy,do not be caught on the spike as revenue from collaborations will not be of salvation this financiale year.

just remind me ? how many grams of grahene/nanene have been sold !

how many machines have been brought ! to meet demand ?

the ceo states no further placings,he is a salesman and wants your honey pot.

wheat from the chaff,

Chinese have not signed of the non law binding letter of intent.
imho they will require equity as security if they do,then dilution of placings will be a quick fix.

do not over look vrs last fund raise was over subscribed & raised 2.8 million, that is some cash burn, and the ceo has milked the cash cow by selling two tranches of his holdings, the last block had no reference to vrs buisiness.

trade war,

will vrs back the usa or china ? loads one silver bullet in to the chamber.

usa

if they back the usa they secure the israel military collaboration, and can fly their kite under the blood red skys,as the graphene/nanene supplied will be used to
build fighter jets/smart bombs to murder un armed men women children & the un born of palestine!

china,

china are building the silk rd/block rd project,to cut the chase they are in the process of putting the last pieces of the jig saw puzzle in place,if you recall last year they run a train from china to london, the journey was completed in six days,

when the shanghai express rumbles through the channel tunnel, then vrs may sub contract as nanene does not travel well.

monetry value`s

while the western world has been dreaming the eastern world has been scheming,

since the illegal war with iraq the usa printing presses have been laundering the dollar.

china has a love affair with gold, and have been building their gold reserves,
as you,may well be aware of commodities are trading in dollars.

china wants to implement gold as a currency "block chain" rumour has it fort knox is empty!

china are securing oil fields in the middle east & africa

the trade war will hike prices sending the globe in to recession, cash is king.

i have missed them lumps under the mattress, with sleepless nights since investing in versarien long or short !

the corn beef thread is the sgrag ends of the bull market,sizzle....sizzle

I think we are all pretty much agreed on the base calculation for the YE results, which is the last 12 months announced revenue which is approx £8.6m. As far as extra that we don't know the value of, other than NR saying that we don't give it away, how much did VRS get for the supply of Nanene to the 8 collabs announced after the end of the half year. The other thing to consider if not now, but certainly going forward at what rate does or will VRS charge for the technical support given to the companies testing and developing products.

I'd be fairly surprised if they didn't try to get a non-results RNS out this week, if they can.

I'm ruling out any income from Nanene as I think it will be so minimal pre EOY despite Neill charging for everything.

Neill made reference to the oil price rising quite some time ago and mentioned that this would be good for Total Carbide business. That and the fact that they have been advertising for new operatives (I think there was an advert earlier in the year as well as this latest one) suggests that the core businesses have been doing well.

The increased expenses must obviously be factored in (despite most travel being ryanair!)but Matt's salary won't enter in to it. Can't remember when we opened the American office...

I don't think you'll be far out with your estimate SG.

I think it will be an exciting week, but I didn't want to say that last week.

Let the jittery folk leave imo especially with others more solid and long term picking them up.

Thanks sg. I expect operating expenses have gone up quite a bit due to new recruitment of high quality staff over the period and lawyers fees for all the agreements.

Goldminer re your post as below

The turnover last year was £5.94m I have my fingers crossed that next Thursday they will show a turnover of £10m and a profit of £0.5m ~ its a tough ask but what do others think?

I think £10 mill and £.5 mill profit is a bit hot as you say but I have no idea. Don't forget they will have spent cash on expansion but as we know they have got the YE results without a fund raise.

All I can go on is the full 6 months double it and take that as an estimate. I haven't checked to see when the orders of graphene would drop into the accounts. Then there is the point of the odd bit mentioned re funding from Innovate on some parts.

EG

Nov 2017 in that article we found

One of the applications he particularly believes in is the ink’s integration into batteries. Thanks to this, enhanced batteries with higher storage density and recyclability may be produced. This integration process is in fact already on track: Although Prof. Ferrari says it’s too soon to give out more information, he has already obtained further funding to bring HIGRAPHINK’s production technique to batteries.

Higraphink is the VRS ink as in the article

"HIGRAPHINK resulted in the creation of a spinoff called Cambridge Graphene Ltd, which was recently acquired by Versarien"

Then VRS news recently (non reg RNS)

Flexibat

The Company, through its subsidiary Cambridge Graphene Ltd, is pleased to be part of the Flexibat consortium that has recently been awarded GBP1.2 million of grant funding from Innovate UK as part of a GBP1.5 million project to develop and bring to market graphene enhanced, thin, flexible printed batteries for electronic wearable and IoT (Internet of Things) devices. From the GBP1.2m of grant funding, Cambridge Graphene will directly receive approximately GBP145,000 and indirectly benefit from the funding provided to the other consortium members.

So is the funding in November different to that mentioned now?

That's just one example.

The ISO standards are not “out”. It is believed the standards have been defined, although that is not certain, then the testing regime must be decided and finally test centres need to be accredited. Hopefully this process will be completed soon and that will help to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Daily Mail doesn't seem too bad to me. It's just a short article with some basic info. It gets the VRS name out there, too strong and as Shavian says the unwanted herd would arrive.

They have highlighted power storage and supplied some to a Chinese car battery manufacturer.

They call it share out of the week.

However Will Battrick is not the CTO he left some time ago.

I wouldn't worry too much about the shallowness of the Mail article. The author might not know much, but there will be quite a few of its readers who do take a closer look and trigger another wave of awareness - all of which helps.

The results to the end of March in themselves are not going to reveal a great deal in my opinion.

What we do know is:

-the existing business has had a pretty good time.
-the new high volume graphene production capacity only was delivered in the last few days of March.
-reality is they will have only sold a few kg's of graphene in the period...but we have known that for months.

It will be the March to September figures where we are likely to see greater revenue figures as a result of all the collaborations signed since the start of the year.

Anyone getting too excited by the results themselves might be disappointed although there hopefully will be some updates on the recent deals.

I sense there it something bigger happening commercially in the background which is far more interesting. Everyone at the company appear to be genuinely excited and not just the CEO.
